Few pics of some great food. Jerked chicken. Man it was good!

Pictures take forever to upload though.

Enjoy your stay. I'll be going to Negril in a couple months. Never been before (or to Jamaica at all). I was debating whether I should wear my Sub, or save myself the worry and wear a G-Shock. You seem to be doing fine with your AP. Thoughts?

Jamaica is a fun place and Negril is quite chilled.
I wore my TT Sub every day in Negril last year. In the 2 weeks I was there, no one appeared to notice it until the very last day when one of the workers at my hotel said "nice watch".

This place is rather different from anything I've seen before. (I've travelled a lot)

No one notices the AP, my wife is wearing her 14060 24/7, feels it safer on the wrist than in the hotel safe. We are staying at an "old" Negril laid back hotel right on seven mile beach, definitely nothing like a sandals.

People here are genuine, talk to them and you and the local guy smile after 5 seconds. The Jamaicans are awesome. Interesting, intelligent and "one love" would sum it up.

First time I'm here, and had some doubt about bringing a 25K watch. After two days I don't even think about it.

You can probably be robbed here, no doubt, this isn't the Caymans.

But the road is safe (we asked our hotel), beach is not recommended at night.

This place is very cool, and quite quiet. Nothing much after 10pm. Depends what you are looking for though.

Ganja is everywhere, I don't smoke, but people who do, be it tourists or locals won't bother you a bit. Locals offer it, especially to young guys, but I'm yet to feel any pressure from anyone for anything. Lots of guys walking the beach selling eveything from orange juice to ganja, but I've been polite to them, and I get in return a small chat or just a fistbump wih "one love" or "respect". Love this place!!!!!!!!!!

Very cool. Thanks for the report. The lady and I are going to Couples Negril, which is a bit up the bend from you, and quite a bit more Sandals-esque than your experience. But we're sure looking forward to it. It sounds like you're having an awesome time. I look forward to more pictures and descriptions.

By the way, at the risk of sounding naive, can someone explain why hotel room safes are anything but safe? I've read that time and again. Why even have them, if they're the last place you should put your valuables?

Sorry for the upside down pic. Internet is hopelessly slow here.

Great place, we were just in Montego Bay last month. Slip the guys at the jerk shack $10-15 and ask for the white rum they give the locals. If it comes from underneath the bar and doesn't have a label then that's it.
Just a tip, the Appleton 21yr rum is $104 US at the airport in the duty free area, by far the best place anywhere to get it. I brought home 4 bottles.

So jealous!

I've been to many Caribbean Islands and Jamaica is one of my favorites. I love the culture and the people. I just booked my annual 4th of July week Caribbean vacation. We going to Mo Bay! Ya mon! Irie!

So three nights back the ocean here was upset. Not very windy here, but obviously somewhere else close by...

Have a look at what our beach has turned to... From a perfect paradise beach to an ocean bumpster.

Needless to stay, we're cutting Jamaica short and returning to Florida. This place is imho 90% beach and now that's gone. No-one here has seen anything like it.

Make sure you try our Ackee and saltfish for breakfast (ask for breadfruit on the side)!

Also check out Rick's Cafe (get there before sunset!)

Sure looks like sea-grass. Stinks of rotten fish. And no-one is doing much.
