Remote Control Cars anyone?

Anyone here into hobby cars? I have a Team Losi XXX Kinwald edition that I dug up from my basement after sitting for almost 15 years. I still remember the day I put it together.. never got a chance to use it much but my 4 yr old got soemthing small for xmas last year and we just busted it out.. and now I've got the itch. Car hauls ass honestly. I can post some pictures in a little while .. hope to see if some of you all are interested in the hobby as well.

I've had a few nitro trucks. HPI Savage and Traxxas Revo. Been awhile since I've had them out.

I used to have my parents basement full of them at one point. My collection was worth more than some Rolex' lol. Now I have a few boats and planes, and I kept my losi Mini t with a mamba BL system in it because it rips lol but the 1/8 and 1/10 scale got boring, after a while I would just purposely destroy them so I could go drop $50-100 on parts to rebuild. I had some epic destructions, we built a ramp in my works parking lot when I had a brushless traxxas slash, we put it in front of a giant, 30-40ft wide drainage ditch and launched it full speed trying to clear it, and used loctite super glue/zip ties to hold it together when stuff would break. Should've seen the look on the shop owners face when I brought it in to get replacement parts, had to buy everything shy of new shocktowers and a chassis.

How about the Kyosho Raider or the Shadow? Circa 1989....Old School.
They were a lot of fun.

Wow, that brings back memories. Among other 1/18th cars, I also had a Mini T with a mamba brushless motor. I was a member of one18th.com before it closed. I got into Mini Zs for a while, too, but I lost interest pretty quickly.

Any recommendation for ones that run on gas?

I used to do the electric Tamiya ones and now thinking of getting something faster for both me and the kids.

TIA.

I'll post some pics soon. One of the axels went out while riding and I've been trying to source some parts since the car has been discontinued.

I have two nitro powered remote control cars sitting in my garage that I never used. They are supposed to hit 60 MPH. Does that count?

HPI can't compare to FG or Harm

these RC cars have brake pads and rotors

Used to race a lot as a kid... Team Associated & Losi. Some gas and electric.

Thinking I'll get back into it when my kid is ready as it can be addictive and costly. I certainly don't need another expensive hobby a the moment but do know I've been wanting an electric car for sometime. Got tired of gas and I'd imagine electric options have come a very long way since.

Lol you can't bash them like an HPI. And you could buy close to 3 HPI 1/5 scales for the price of one.

I did have a fun micro Skyline I moded back in 2000 to harass soldiers up and down the barracks hallways. Do they still sell those?

I forget the scale but it couldn't have been more than 10" in overall length. Fun as hell, good quality, and cheap enough to quench the thirst without going BIG.

I suggest you go for the AoWei 1/5th Scale 26cc Yama Petrol RC Buggy
http://www.thehobbyworx.com/rc-cars/...4ghz-7673.html , The Yama Buggy is built with many aluminum parts and looks great with oil filled, color coordinated shocks.

I would pay $ to see the kitty's going 60mph on a nitro car. Mine ride the roomba but.........⛪️💩.

I had a couple Losi electrics back in the day. Traded them for some stereo equipment.

HPI Savage Flux, and I also have a Traxxas nitro 2wd truck. The HPI is a beast and takes everything I can throw at it.

I used to have a Team Lose LST Nitro truck and a TC3 Car. Fun toys but something broke everytime I took them out and they will quickly turning into a time n money pit. Ended up giving both away to a kid in my neighborhood. He still plays with them with his dad.

I used to be in it big time as a kid. Sold off everything. Been thinking of getting a 1/4 scale buggy or big helicopter.

Man this brought back memories. My father and I used to mess with these things all the time when I was a kid. He built a Kyosho Inferno out of a kit over a period of a few months, and I had an Ofna Hyper 7. I don't remember what his had, but I had a .32 Axial racing engine and exhaust, and all kinds of fun upgrades. That thing was seriously fast, we actually tore up the baseball field at school with it back when I was in high school. My teachers loved it!

We also had an HPI on-road kit that we did with a bunch of neat stuff, and I distinctly remember a two speed transmission on it.

I actually still have MOST of them up in my attic, though I imagine they're not in runnable conditions anymore. I did always want to get back into it though, I LOVE the HPI Baja buggies.

I have an old Tamiya Clodbuster which had a lot of aftermarket parts (metal chassis, upgraded electronics, motor, etc) but I haven't used it in years. I bought a few things to get it going again but haven't had the time / been too busy with other things. The cars were fun. When we were young we'd used to dig / make mud pits in the woods and run these through. Oh, I also have an RC/10 that was converted to a truck. I have a motor in there that made this thing really fast. It was my brother's first and he would race it at an indoor rc car track eons ago (the track is long gone)

I also have a bunch of electric rc fixed wing aircraft.. got into those a while back. With a daughter now they haven't been flown in years.. I've been wanting to get them airborn again but I need to pick up some LiPoly batteries first.

Got this back in Mid January - Team Associated B5M .. It's a real sweet car. I decided to shelve the Losi since they no longer make any parts for it.
