The Hulk is just a pure beauty, the sunburst green dial is absolutely stunning.
I miss mine, I had to sell it a year ago and regretted it the second I did :-(

Owned a Hulk for a few years and surprisingly I don’t miss it.

I think the Cermit will be the one. The lug proportions are almost perfect for my wrist.

I drooled over the 16610LV when it first came out. Took a break from Rolex for a few years and found out they released a 116610LV and fell in love.

I bought one and had it for three years. I sold it to fund a WG sub. My AD let me try on a 126610LV just last week. The bezel is washed out.

116610LV is the clear winner. And, BTW, that amazing dial trumps slimmer lugs any day of the week. I currently own a 126610.

washed out? probably the last way I'd imagine the bezel is described. It's lush if anything!

Genuinely interested in what you mean when you say the bezel of the 126610LV is washed out. It’s identical in color to the bezel on the 116610LV.

Agreed, that’s my biggest issue. They are the same. I didn’t like the bezel on the 116610LV either. It was weak in comparison to the dial. The bezel on the 116613 or 126613 match the sunburst dial way better.

All personal preference but after having own/owned both, green on black is the one for me. While Hulk is a special watch (feels like a Miami beach party watch), it just oozes too much green over time. 126610lv with a black dial and a splash of green has the perfect look and balance to me

Out of 3 gens of green sub. My opinion:
1. 16610LV - a transitional model marked 50th anniversary. It has a historical importance to the sub line up. Old case with new dial, green bezel, solid end link. It was an unexpected release, very unique.

2. 116610LV - LV created an interest but it was the LVC1 that created the whole watch industry green hype. Green wasn’t a color that favored by public but LVC1 certainly made folks aware it can be loved. Upgraded to ceramic insert, a pop of loud sunburst green dial. Maxi case. It is dramatically different than original LV, I can see folks own both LV and LVC1 cuz visually they are so different. With that sunburst dial made it unique among 3.

3. 126610LV - with the market hype after LVC1, after years, LVC2 difference from LVC1 isn’t as dramatic. The same time toned down. Ceramic insert shared with previous model, black dial is taken from LN. the only visual feature that is unique to this release is the new case. If anyone own both LV and LVC2, they kind of play in the same color game. If anyone own both LVC1 and LVC2, they kind of play the similar external look. Cuz LVC1 in some light situations the dial looks like black anyway.

To me, my opinion only, always feel LVC2 is lacking some uniqueness in character of its own except the better fitting on wrist. To someone who is looking to own one and only with newest tech Rolex has to offer, LVC2 prob is the best model to own. It is the most practical green sub.

The newest Starbucks because of the updated case and movement as well the black dial to me just makes it more special.

Why do ppl want the bezel to match the sunburst dial? I don’t see how that’s an improvement can anyone explain why the bezel matching dial is so crucial?

That's exactly what people are saying they don't like - that the sunburst dial (beautiful in its own right) is aesthetically very different to the flat colour of the bezel (which is also beautiful in it's own right). Same as with the 126613LB.

Aesthetic preference - nothing more. Some people like the clash, others don't. I'm the latter.

To me, what makes the Hulk so unique and so amazingly beautiful is the radial sunburst green dial. If you remove that, you just have a regular stainless steel Submariner with a green bezel. Because it is all about the dial for me, then my choice is clear!

It’s not an aesthetic clash tho… it’s various shades on green, a clash would be like if the bezel were hot pink.

I get what you’re saying but by your logic then there should never be PCLs. And bracelets should be all the same color as the dial. Because on the said watch two shades of green is a clash then where do we stop from there?

The best dressed ppl know how to use different colors and similar colors with different shades aesthetically. Aesthetics can definitely be met with more than one color

Yeah I get that! Just think aesthetic was misused in that context (and is misused in seeing relentlessly on this forum) and wanted to point that out. Aesthetic isn’t an objective term so you can’t say something is not aesthetic. Rather, you’d saying it’s not aesthetic up to my preferences. And was also pointing out that it’s not a “clash”. It would be “I think it clashes because xyz” and I would be hard pressed to find any fashion designer say a different shade of the same colour in an outfit would be a clash. Like if I have a pair of cowboy boots and the foot of it is a dark brown but then the top is a lighter brown that’s not really a clash. Lots of cowboy boots will do that to the aesthetic preferences of most consumers.

Anyway I think one thing I’ve learned on this board is there is a high amount of love for all the models and then some have more than others. However, I don’t think Rolex has ever “clashed” any watch or missed the boat on “aesthetics”.

Wheras I think other brands like Breitling, Omega, Seiko are very guilty of making watches that look like eye sores because of the intense amount of variations they have with their colors.

The current LV. Much better proportions and I prefer the green bezel and black dial over the green on green.

I like both. I think I would be less likely to get tired of the Cermit, it just looks really clean. However, the Hulk has a gorgeous dial that I would more expect to see on a PM Rolex, which makes it feel a bit more special.

Another one here opting for the ‘Hulk’ (not a lover of nicknames but understand why!) the sunburst dial is just lovely! Something a bit special about it on the Sub… other than black… with a green bezel. It’s a more ‘interesting’ watch.
