1969 Air King Crystal

Good evening from Kentucky!

I have a question I think you guys may be able to answer. I have a 1969 Air King (no date) that needs a new crystal. I'd really prefer to put a sapphire crystal in it instead of another acrylic.

But my question is, is that an option? If it is, what should I look for as far as shape, or type. I'd like it to be the same shape if possible. This is my personal watch and just prefer the durability of sapphire.

Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you all in advance!

Did you read the similar thread about a DJ that was just started the other day? The answers will be pretty much the same.

I had not seen it, thank you for that.

Yeah it's pretty much as I expected. It was just a thought, but an acrylic crystal is far less expensive and they do have a distinctive profile.

YMMV but from my understanding, while there are aftermarket kits to go sapphire, the og acrylic is a guaranteed to be the best seal and water tightness. I'd just stick with OEM parts fwiw.
