Polarizing.
A work colleague owns one and let me have a close look at it. Well, there's nothing I like about it. Too many colours (he has the RG two-tone, even worse), busy dial, brash, garish, why YM II engraved on the bezel?? With regards to wrist presence, this thing looks huge on OP's wrist IMHO. But hey, to each their own. If you like it then wear it, enjoy it and don't listen to naysayers. |

The YG YM2 only looks good in YG with the gold hands. The stainless looks good as well with the non-blue hands. The YM2 white gold & two tone doesn't look good at all. The YM1 in platinum 16622/116622 looks great with the platinum dial only, also you won't ever need to worry about the dial losing its quality over the years.

I can totally see how on its own, the YMII would look unassuming, but transform once it's actually on your wrist.
Great review. |

How much would you pay for a decent used one? I'm interested to trade my Panerai PAM 112 for one of these.

Observing........
the YM-II 116680 first generation versus the new generation (Mercedes Hands) When I was searching for a YM-II 116680 (which I own now) I occaisionaly noticed this 1st generation promoted as the "BLUE ARMS" version; suggesting/indicating that in the future this would become a typical, coveted version of the YM II, since it now only is produced by Rolex with "Mercedes/typical Rolex" Hands etc. Example: Rolex Yacht-Master II Steel Blue Arms Guardian Of Time 52 Berkeley Square Ground Level London W1J 5BT United Kingdom https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/yacht...-id5866595.htm What do you think and btw which version do you prefer.....? |

Aesthetically I prefer the new version. To me, Rolex sport watch “look” is not complete without Mercedes handset and triangle at 12. These hands also seem more proportionate with the big dial, whereas previous hands seem a bit skinny. Just personal preference... old design will go down in history as the original design, nothing can take that away! |

Nicely written review . The watch is a work of art in a colorful and mechanically complicated movement. I also hesitated at first but purchased the watch and its a permanent family member .

The YM2 was never on my radar before I tried it on at the AD. Well.. guess what happened next. I big fat went and did it. It’s a real stunner in the flesh.
