Love the smell of Cedar.

Just walking in the door of our cedar cabin. Can't discribe what that smell does to the soul.

Dislike Cigarette or Cigar smoke with a passion. Even worse is the stank on a smokers clothes. We have a smoker in the office. I cannot hang my jacket up in the coat closet as I don't want that rancid/putrid stank on or near my stuff.
When he comes in my office to ask a question, right after he's had a smoke, I want to jump out the window.
I'd rather have him fart in my office, than have a smoke before he comes in.

I only smelled the jet fuel when we drove past JFK airport when I was a kid, I guess it was the association with seeing planes that made me like the smell. When I was a small kid, I actually used to stand behind those old fashioned (early-mid 60's) buses in NYC because I liked the exhaust smell. Guess that was a little dangerous.

Caroline,

Comptoir Sud Pacifique's "Vanille Extreme." They make numerous vanilla scents but this remains my signature fragrance, nothing on the planet is like it.

The problem is it's a scent. Googling a scent isn't helpful since it's something you need to experience directly (but they're right, it is sickening).

Fresh mown grass and fresh baked bread (I pass a bakery everyday when they just finished their first run!) are among my favourite smells. A good Bourbon also smells very, very nice. And of course there's Opium by Yves Saint Laurent. Heavenly

What I absolutely hate and despise is the foul odour of people who never heard of taking a shower before they start the day and the use of a proper deodorant. It turns my stomach

I find this thread fascinating. They say that the strongest memories are evoked by the sense of smell and I believe that absolutely!

I love the smell of a garage....gasoline....grease....oil.....hand cleaner etc. I also love the smell of a freshly mowed lawn and scented candles....vanilla....apple cinnamon and mulberry.

I hate the smell of Pine-Sol and of cigarettes.....and even worse....dirty ashtrays that have days of butt accumulation.

I like the smell of Pine. Real pine, not the canned stuff. If you break it and rub it on your hands it has this terrific smell. Also, anyone who has been on a submarine, even for just a tour knows it has a distinct smell, like diesel mixed with a whole buch of other stuff. There is no other smell like it. I like that smell. It reminds me of my youth.

I don't like the smell of "Felony" feet. Really bad news.

I'm with you on the pine. Heavenly aromatic.

Also the smell of frangipani flowers. You will only find these trees in warm climates. I sometimes go for a walk, pick a few off someone's tree, bring them home and watch them float in a small bowl of water releasing their wonderful aroma.

The smell of freshly baked bread and freshly ground and brewed coffee are also wonderful.
