118238 Clasps

Hi everyone. I've researched the topic of 118238 bracelet clasps a lot, and cant find a concise answer. So I thought I would ask the Rolex experts on their views:
1. How much of a difference does the older clasp vs the newer clasp on the DD 118238 make?
2. At what price difference between an older clasp 118238, and a newer clasp 118238, does it make more sense to go with the older or with the newer. For instance, if the older clasp 118238 is $X, and the newer is $X+2k, is it worth the extra $2k? I know this is relative to each individual, but i thought i would ask never the less.

Thank you everyone!
