Paranormal Activity 3
Just came back from this with my lady and it was scary as sh*t. Holly sh*t it was scary. I saw the first one with my friend two years ago on our computer and it wasn't that scary but this time in the movie theater and the way this movie is made scared the living crap out of me. Holly sh*t. I started laughing at some points where the scary stuff happened in the beginning, to alleviate the fright, but toward the end I couldn't even muster up enough to do that anymore. This movie don't play.

Without giving away the plot* True to the series pedigree, man installs a bunch of cameras in the house. But he disassembles a fan, the kind that rotates, and installs a camera on top of the rotating base to create like a rotating camera effect. So you have this camera that is rotating at least 180 degrees and you never know what's going to happen when the camera rotates back. Holy sh*t it was scary, including one of the scariest scenes in the movie that took place in the kitchen. This was so creative and scary damn I am still panting.

I did like 1 and 2. 1 moreso, as 2 didn't add a whole lot other than solidifying the family curse issue with the sister. I am interested in the trip back to yesteryear to see how it began. I do also feel, however, like we're being taken on a ride by 2 and 3 that simply build on the great devices used in 1.

When my teen daughter saw the first, she slept with the lights on for about a month
She said the second wasn't as bad........ I wonder what her reaction will be for this movie

Well as long as it is better than the 1st 2 which to me were anything but scary!
Look forward to seeing it... PS--The last truly scary movie I saw was The Strangers with Liv Tyler--that one was well done!

I think this one is different because of the camera angles. First two had security like cameras installed in the upper corners of rooms, like a gas station camera. But PA3 the man installs cameras on tripods, put a camera on a desk, and on the rotating fan. So your point of view is so much more realistic and as if you are in the room. And a lot of scary stuff happens as seen through a camera the man holds in his hand in real time. The second movie introduced the hand held camera but it was to document family stuff like what the daughter is doing in the day, nothing scary.
I also found that 1 and 2 had a lot of pointless scenes. Like on night 3 in PA2, literally nothing happens... I'm all tensed up waiting for something stupid to happen but nothing happens. In PA3, it seemed everything frightened me, and that every sequence had a scare! |

Loved the first one and thought the second one was a bit rubbish, but the third one was brilliant thought it was as scary if not more so than number 1 great movie well worth seeing, even if you havent seen the other 2

I enjoyed the first one, original low budget horror flick. The second one was like seeing the first one again...in a bad way. Not gonna see number 3, 4, 5, reboot, 2, 3 etc.

Part III..............I failed to see the need to include the girls to make it scary.
