Icon9 Ebay scam reminder

Hi All,
As a new member I am reporting my STOLEN Rolex Bi-metal datejust
Model 16233 SERIAL NUMBER L861848 Case number R666386
stolen in the UK
The scam works as follows :-
A legitimate e bay account is hacked and an advertised watch is bought on the buy it now option and payment made in full through paypal.
The seller is messaged saying the buyer wants to pickup the watch in person to make sure its received safely. This may be arranged away from the sellers home.
The next day the payment will be reversed by e bay and you have handed over your watch to organised thieves. BEWARE !!!

Sorry to hear of your loss. Unfortunately this is a common scam and it happens far too often!! Well done for getting the watch info on line- I always google the serial no. of a watch I'm looking to buy just in case it has been reported on the forums etc. Best of luck in getting it back / insurance etc.

You have to be more careful and know the regulations of PayPal! You must ALWAYS have a verifiable tracking number with a payment on PayPal! Always! And over $750, must include signature. If these rules are not followed you will ALWAYS lose the case on PayPal.

Op super sorry for your loss, the above is to ensure no other buyers get scammed as you did.

If it is going to be collected it should be cash only, and meet at a bank and pay the notes straight in to ensure they are real.

Yeah... Paypal protection requires a tracking number and signature confirmation... otherwise you're basically giving your item away...
