My brother has the Wimbeldon and he absolutely loves it. I like it too - just not enough to own it.

I think it works as part of a collection, but it would be a peculiar choice as an only watch. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with this. The lume dissipating quickly is so true; it's not like this is a flashlight that stays lit for 30 minutes. Lume looks cool for about a minute at best, and then it's gone. Definitely not a reason for me to buy/not buy a watch.

It's not terrible looking I suppose, but it never appealed to me. Black and green Roman numerals and the single baton at 9 o'clock are just not for me. I prefer simple stick hour markers. I do like the DJ, put my name down for one of the latest 2022 releases.

It just seems unbalanced to me. Far prefer the traditional stick markers on a DJ.

IMO the font of the Roman Numerals doesn't look premium and the odd Baton at 9 just looks so out of place to me.

I am about to do a straight swap on my yellow gold two tone for 2016 explorer ii Polar.
It didn’t get any wrist time. Can’t even say I didn’t like the 9 o clock marker, I actually thought that balanced up the dial when you look at it. The mistake I made was buying a blue jubilee datejust 41mm 4 months later. From then on the Wimbledon datejust was toast. It is a good watch though and I can see why loads of people love it. I think it does look better on the two tones, a bit more exciting!

It is unique.

I owned a 40mm for a while and sold it, I thought it wore small on the wrist, could not get past that.

I go back and forth on the Wimbledon. It looks great in promotional photos, I like that it sort of stands on its own in the DJ line, but those romans can be hard to see in dim lighting. The slate dial already creates some legibility issues with the white gold hands, but the baton models seem to be much easier to read vs the Wimbledon. I used to absolutely HATE the lumed 9 marker, but now I see it as sort of a balance to the white date box. Like I said my opinion changes all the time on this piece. Beautiful watch regardless.

When I purchased my first DJ I had the choice between silver dial and Wimbledon dial. At that time I chose the silver one - however now I somehow regret it

I like mine, it’s different from other DJ’s, there’s more room on a 41 for the Romans.

Yes, it’s not as legible in low light, but to me, it’s so distinctive in bright light. And the lume at 9:00, along with lumed hands, helps orient the entire dial.

Are the markers on the Wimbledon painted on, or the they white gold painted black and outlined in green paint?

9:00 lume looks odd. Swing and a miss, imo. And not a fan of Romans on the DJ.

I like the colour scheme of the wimbledon dial but i dislike how flat the dial looks with barely any applied
markers.

I saw one just the other day. My dealer actually had one in the case for sale. He had 4 DJ in there. The Wimbledon dial was the grey with green romans and looked spectacular. It was in a Two Tone DJ. Not a fit for me, as I'm not looking for a two tone DJ, BUT the dial was great.

This ^^^^^ but I’ll add some precision. Whenever people come up with a nickname that is linked to a prestigious event or personality it’s generally to put lipstick on the pig.

I think the Wimbledon looks great! Definitely unique and looks like no other dial. I personally like Romans as well. Would have been really nice if they were able to lume all of the Romans like the 116334 lumed arabic dial numbers.

Not a huge fan of the watch but I love the sentiment (tennis fan). With some minor changes the watch dial could be great but as it sits now it isn’t….imo. The decision to add lume at all to this reference for example is ridiculous

I recently saw a TT DJ41 with Jubilee and Wimbledon dial. I like it a lot better in person than I thought I would.

The 9 lume is supposed to balance out the date wheel, but it doesn't and it's just odd. No one, outside of Rolex aficionados, cares for it. If it didn't have the "Wimbledon" nickname, not even Rolex aficionados would care for it.

Just got one an love it. Only thing I don’t like, it’s not super legible at night. Can’t see shit…. In daytime I can’t stop staring at it though. I have numerous sports models. My family and friends say this is the first watch they’re wowed by.

The dial has one lume marker lol. Though it is a beautiful looking dial, for that reason alone, I am out.

Thoughts on the Wimbledon Dial

Some of y’all are crazy, it’s the best dial in the DJ lineup.

I like mine. Low key, and under the radar. Is it a one and done watch … not in my opinion, but when you have a bunch of watches it’s nice to have something different.
