SS Panda Daytona-C Hits 50k!

So, that time has come -- UNWORN 2021 OR NEWER new card partially or fully stickered stainless steel white "panda" ceramic Daytona 500LN have hit $50,000.00.

In the last couple of weeks, this particular piece, along with a few others, have really shot up in price -- both for greys having to pay higher "replacement costs" and end buyers.

Some sellers have ran through their inventory, and some others have pulled back to see the watch go up and up in value, as they wait to relist to not miss out on profit from the new market price.

Going up and up every single day!!

Owning a black 500 and other Daytonas even I say this is just bonkers. Sooooo not worth these prices which has been discussed ad nauseam here on TRF but 50k plus? Really??

Granted I am on the next one that comes in list for a 116505 or 116515

Spot on as usual Danny IMO.

The market is ALWAYS bonkers when new releases are around the corner plus Rolex with the new price increase.

Too many models to list that went crazy for a little while then as always the market settled.

Typical daily uneducated Chrono24 listing thread.

Current market price is still under $45K.

There have been some considerable increases in the market for many references with little to no speculation of discontinuation re those pieces, my friend.

I’m in the chats (as many of us are). One sold yesterday for $44,250 and that’s the current peak. 12/2021 card.

Yeah even without discontinue speculation and the market is dry and blah blah sellers can list/ask for any amount they chose.

Getting it is a different situation. Are they? Who knows

i believe chrono has high fees so prices reflect that and also most don't actually have the watch in their possession so they're basically fishing for higher prices

i remember the same thing happened this time last year too with the green dial daytona. it went from like 60 to 90k in a few months on speculation of new releases

Let's revisit this thread in the next 2 to 3 weeks and see whether DSW has posted an unworn new card white C for 48 - 50. Let's see.

But for the last many months it's be about 90k. Even with hype and increase and ever slight dip or cooling off, and then picks back up. The 519 Green is just another example of that.

I generally love your posts, brother... and I have no doubt the 116500 will/could hit $50K in a few weeks, $60K in a few months, and maybe even $75K this year.

But let’s not point to nonsense listings on C24 to indicate current market price.

Thanks brother. Understood.

But I don't think it's nonsense. I assure you that I search and think long and hard before creating a post and Chrono24 listings are not the begining or the end all for me. Agreed -- C24 should NEVER be the sole basis of market assessment for a particular piece. I give you that.

I’m going to submit a contrarian view, even though it pains me to do so.

The 5711 and AP Chrono ST’s are also completely bonkers. In broader terms based upon perceived secondary market value of the Daytona (yes I’m going to say it) would mean that it’s UNDERVALUED at 44k’ish.

One must take a macro view of the madness, instead of singling out the Daytona. It’s probably the only way to insert any rationale into this aberration we call the current luxury watch market.

Do I agree with it? Hell no. Is it however a reality, well yes. Rejecting the existence of fact based upon historical beliefs is a sign of insanity, and to that I cannot subscribe (for obvious reasons)

$50k+ for a SS Daytona, the world is mad mad mad.

Still the hopeful character selling the watch has still to find a fool to buy it, maybe some common sense will appear and the watch remain unsold.

Somehow I think I will be proved wrong and the fool will be found, I wonder how they would feel if the bubble on this over-hyped and over-priced watch burst just hours after they spent their hard earned cash on this trinket.

$50k for a Daytona, madness, utter madness.
