experience with this seller?
I'm in the final stages of purchasing a watch long-distance from Bachmann-Scher in Munich, Germany. Can anyone vouch for them?
I apologize if this is in the wrong specific forum, but it seemed like a "general" question to me. Thanks in advance for any input. |

Bachmann Scher, Munich
Sadly, I can now respond to my own query.
My experience with Bachmann Scher from Munich was quite negative. After seeing additional pictures of the watch, agreeing to a price, and setting a ship date for the watch (they had agreed to send it to a colleague in another city for my inspection and pickup), I contacted them to ask for wire transfer instructions and to confirm that the watch had arrived at their colleague's shop (it was to have been shipped 2 days prior). It was at this point -- and only at this point -- that they said the watch was no longer available. If this was a possibility for any reason, I should think that should have been made clear from the outset. Moreover, they were not proactive in telling me the watch was no longer available, I had to learn of it after it did not show up in shipment to their colleague. I find this to be dishonorable and unprofessional. Once a deal is agreed to, it should be honored in my view. My advice is to deal with them very cautiously. I believe one's character is reflected in all transactions. |
