10-pct diamond dial - is it ok on a men's watch?
Was browsing at the Tudor Glamour date+day. They have very elegant designs in All-steel and Two-tone.
As I was looking for a dressy watch, I wonder if it is ok to "dress up" a plain starburst silver dial on steel bracelet by choosing a dial with diamonds? Of cos the good old school will be the classic two-tone. But the flamboyant side of me seems to tell me diamonds are ok (or are they not). Don't frown on me folks :) Just want to tap how people think when they choose / stay away from diamonds on dial. |

Diamonds are not forever for me on a watch. Nice on a ring tho.

i think that statement needs to be supported a little better, as there are quite a few breitlings that one would consider a tool watch. take the steelfish for example.
now if you were to get a breitling for bentley series watch then that would be a fair statement. |

I don't like diamonds on a mens watch but I also don't wear yellow gold. Its all about what you like...if you do I say go for it.

Thanks for all replies.
Must diamonds strictly go with two tone or yellow gold watches? Will steel work as well? |

No diamonds on my watches.... but if you like them...great! I like them on rings and my wife's watch....but for me...a little gaudy on a man's watch.

With respect to actually wearing them, just not for some us brushed "tool" watch guys and gals. (Although I own an unadorned WG DD as well.)

I personally don't like diamonds on a watch, at least not for a man.

Of course it is OK. Diamonds are not for female only and don't ever let anyone tell you so.

I kind of like the serti Submariner dials. My wife has the diamond dial and bezel and the watch looks good on her.

I was indifferent to my diamond dial when I got my day date, but the rocks have really grown on me and accentuate the all gold day date I wear everyday w suit and w jeans and flip flops.
Diamonds go well for both genders, in my opinion. On a dress watch I think it adds a touch of classic class, and on a sport watch like a Daytona or a sub, it ads a touch of personality that helps the foundation of the presence of the watch. Here is a pic of my diamond dial day date, and here is a pic of a Daytona I'd love to own, both sporting diamonds of different configurations. And I'd really enjoy this GMT: |

I would say yes to diamonds as markers only.
