The two tone version of the GMT with the black/grey bezel is the Guiness.

I would call this the Half Pint!

A Guiness, at half the price!

There seems to be more excitement about the moniker than the watch.

I really don’t get why there’s two nicknames for blnr just because of bracelet differences.

Agreed. Why aren’t there 2 names for the BLRO on oyster and jubilee? Idiotic.

And I love my Guinness, much more so than the new SS model. My opinion for what it is worth.

It doesn't at all. It's just the name of the watch GRNR

Yeah, someone tried that nickname with emphasis on "tried". The "Guinness" is the one that I believe stuck because of the black/grey bezel.

Still the best fit. The only one that relates to anything. There is nothing in common with an Irish beer and a wrist watch with the letters GRNR in the name.

Nickname aside… what’s the consensus on the watch?

Personally not a fan, however I like it in the two tone version, and love it in YG.

Not a fan of the SS release as it’s just a bit bland for me and I like some more colour! Although appreciate that the Sub LN is very popular so would expect this to be too.

I dub this watch the GMT depression because when I get depressed, I see the world in gray and black.

My vote is Black Panther.

It doesn't really matter, a name will only stick after some internet influencer uses a name that non WIS folks follow. Then it will be forever known as that.

Do other watch brands go though this nickname thing as much as Rolex?

I know Speedy and Moonwatch, but that's about all know.

Omega has a couple, but not like Rolex for sure. None for other brands come to mind TBH. At least not for the brands I follow.
