Rolex 6581

What do you think the market value of this watch? He just serviced it and replaced the crystal. He said it was from 1931, but i think it was from 50s. Is it real or fake?
It is stainless steel with the original rivet band (super rare) it has a thunderbird style bezel and a dark blue textured dial with gold arrow markers and numerals at 3, 6 and 9.
These are sometimes referred to as a "brevet plus" model because it says brevet (which keans patent) and has a cross (which is the Swiss federal cross indicating a Swiss patent) next to it in between the lugs at 12:00 right above the model number. serial number is 5 digits starting with a 4 at the 6:00 position between the lugs (5 digit number starting with a 4 puts it at 1931 production.

The '31 dating is off. It looks to be a mid to late 50s Oyster Perpetual. Date should be 1954 according to serial number and Oysterworld website.

i think maybe the guy meant it was 1931 because that is when the patent was established.

According to some of the serial number dating sites, the 5 digit SN starting with a 4 IS from 1931. The problem is, Rolex restarted the SNs in the mid 50s. In addition to 1931, the 5 digit starting with a 4 is also 1954. Since the movemnent is what it is, the watch would be a '54 model.
Also, dial, hands and movement match many I've seen online, so I've no doubt it's genuine.

Anderl said the value is around $1000. I thought it is more. Any other opinion?
