Icon2 Buying an apartment in Fort Lauderdale

Getting ready to make offer soon I hope. It's in the 33308 zip code area. Is anything I should know about the area. It's less difficult to catch a flight to Brasil there then it is here in the desert southwest. Direct flights no more DFW more international. 2 airports I can use MIA and FFL which has flights direct to LAS

I'm keeping my house here but I thought take a shot living part time near water. Back and forth shouldn't be difficult. You can pull a boat up to the back door. Which is funny to me.

Thanks
Happy holidays

Don't let the limited flights to Brazil stop you...MIA is only 40 minutes away.

yeah, anything west of US1 is ghetto. be careful at night. if you are at the beach it is the best place. avoid oakland park blvd at all costs.

if you are ever here and have the time look me up.

Yes. MIA to Brasil and FFL back to LAS. It'll work out good

And I'm very east of the highway, I plan on being at the beach a lot and not very close to Oakland Park Blvd.

Pretty sure I'll be there to look you up thanks
for the offer

I'm not from there but I'm sure it's north of Oakland Park Blvd if that makes sense. I'm not sure what A1A is yet.

Just me, but from reading your responses I'd consider renting a place to get the lay of the land before buying. I went to the U of Miami, it's been years since I was in Lauderdale I sure things have changed. Had many cool times there...

FL is very nice. Good times there. I remember a very good main street with all the shops and restaurants along it.

I'll be changing my signature below to a hurricane or something with green and orange. Not

My wife will be stationed in that area so I'll be traveling back and forth from LAS to FFL/MIA to GRU/REC/GIG/BSB and also trips to where ever direct flights that leave from MIA to international cities now too. Much easier than DFW or LAX. JFK, can't forget that now that I have family in Forrest Hills area of Queens.

Thanks for advice and offers

Steve anytime

I love Fort Lauderdale, friends of my parents lived there and we used to go see them when we lived in Washington DC, love the fact that your boat is in your backyard, that is so cool. Anyways congrats I think it is the place in FL where I would like to live if I went there to live

I love FLL too. I'll be there soon again. However, if I was to move to Florida I'd choose the Keys. Suits my beach-bum lifestyle perfectly.

I have been taking my young family there every six months for the past few years. We stay in the south beach area of miami, but are always treavelling to the fort lauderdale area daily. So much of everything there! We rent but are tempted everytime we go every few months, problem is we enjoy the big resorts lifestyle, lots of action and frankly are not into the quiet condo living yet. So, have fun!
