Submariner 16613 Onyx Question
Hi
Just looking on Watchbase.com at Submariners and came across a reference that intrigued me. It describes some versions of the 2 tone Date 16613 as having a very rare 'onyx' dial. My questions are: how rare are they? how would you know one if you saw one? and what sort of premium would you expect to pay to a 'non Onyx' version? Any assistance appreciated... http://watchbase.com/rolex/submariner/16613-onyx Last edited by Punchthefatkid; 12 January 2017 at 05:09 PM.. Reason: picture added |

They are rare, blue Lapis lazuli is rarer, you can tell by the hold trio around the date window.

Hi crowncollection, thanks for the update.
You've actually created more questions in my head than answers lol...(sorry) Ok, so could you elaborate on 'hold trio'...Do you mean the gold coloured border that can be seen on the photo in my original post? Also, is there anything obviously different about the dial itself I.e does it have a glossy or matte sheen to it for example, or is the wording in a different font? etc.. Thanks in advance...
