Omega moon watch best watch for the money???

Do you agree that the Omega Speedmaster man on the moon watch ( pre owned) is the best bang for the buck? If not, what beats it?

I guess in this case it comes down to which one you really want. But yes, I agree for value, add money for the Rolex!

Post the same question in the Omega forum and you'll of course get a different answer.

Mon never sells Omega so they can't be most for the bucks.

I would tend to agree that it is ONE of the best at the $2-$3 price range.

For functions, heritage and looks. Absolutely.

But to me, the most bang for the buck watch you can get right now in that price range is the Black Bay.

Do I dare throw in a Panerai Radiomir Black Seal for low $3000 as an option as well?

I would agree with the Speedmaster Pro as a great value at that price point. Also, it really is a must have for any serious collector. IMHO..

What is your definition of "best"?
What kind of watch do you need?
Do you need a chronograph?

No, I do not agree.

If you want to be technical, how many of us NEED a chrono function or for that mater a GMT function, 1000 gauss anti magnetic or a diver rated for 4000ft??? I know many WIS that do not use the functions their watches are capable of.

Personally I think the Omega seamaster is the best bang for the buck.

A really great watch. Dare I say iconic as well. And you can get them for a song.

disagree with OP.

it is subjective. one could argue a $10 timex is the best bang for the buck.

Generally speaking yes. If someone asked me tom what's the best watch I can get for 4K brand new, I would tell them the speedy...

Right after I told them they should 100% save another 2k and buy a 114060.

I think BALL gets you a lot more bang for your buck than anything else in the 2-3k range. Used or new matters not.

Unless limiting this query to luxury-brand watches only, the Timex would indeed be the most 'bang for the buck'.

Certainly would be a contender for that title in my view, given its iconic nature. The speedy is a classic in its own right, just as the sub is.

You asked what was the "best" watch for the money.

Need plays into a persons view of "best" so since you did not answer my question, how is the Speedmaster Professional the "best" when it is not easily hackable, manual winding, contains a hestalite crystal, has a poor water resistance rating . . .

So I ask again, what is your definition of the word "best"?

And as in my signature, I own a Speedmaster Professional. Beautiful watch, great history and value for the money. I wear it often as I do my other watches.

As I understood the intent of the OP's query, I believe this answer sums it up best.
