blancpain 5015-1130-52B - does it exist?

Hi All,
in looking at getting a Fifty Fathoms sport I was surprised that it seems to come with a tang buckle and not deployant.

But twice now I have found reference to a version with a deployant buckle (but not on the official website) (but yes on their official app).

Anyone know anything? Maybe it came in and then was discontinued in a flash or maybe its a newer thing?

I am aware that the deployant comes with the Aqualung tribute, but they are hard to find and plus I think the sport is the best of the lot.

Whilst I'm here searching for insights, the Bathyscape and about every other BP with a see thru caseback has a gold rotor. The Bathyscape's is painted grey. I've heard the 1315 rotor described as a "dense bimetallic" material. Anybody know what it is?

I know I've got google but hey what are forums for? Maybe someone here knows more.

thanks

This might be the version with the blue 'flinque' dial, which has a satin finished case (like the Aqua Lung tribute) and a blue sailcloth strap with deployant clasp. The reference is 5015D-1140-52B
I think the reference you quote is for the AL tribute, but not sure - the Blancpain website lists all the current references.
With regard to the movement, I believe that Blancpain use a few different materials for the rotor, for different watches.

You could check with the Singapore boutique - this is Blancpain's regional centre for APAC and they have direct communication with the manufacture

Right - the blue Flinque comes with a deployant. You can also buy one from the BP service center - about US$700 or so.

hi
what size does that deployment connect to? i know FF lug width is 23mm, but i presume the strap tapers such that deployment is 18 or 20 mm? do you know?

if someone has got one can they measure it for me?

for example wondering if this is it.

That's a fold-over and I think you're looking for the butterfly (double fold) deployant.
It fits the standard sailcloth strap.

This guy has a picture of the one you want: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blancpain-Fi...E:B:SS:US:1123

I never considered getting a deployment since did not remember ever seeing one. At one point I had tried on the Tribute to Aqualung and I can not remember the deployment. I really wanted this model but it was at a boutique and there was no discounts. I hate that!

In addition, since mine is a RG sport model, I would hate to find out how much that might be. The tang buckle has grown on me and is very easy to use and can be adjusted for comfort very easily.

About 2 G's, I think. The deployant holds the FF in place better than the pin buckle, but maybe not 2 grand worth.

Ariel Adams of ablogtowatch reviewed the FF awhile back, and the one he reviewed was on deployment:

Thanks for the link. I am sure there was a b version, albeit for a moment only. I've seen it on the iPhone app (but then lost it when it updated) and on a sale site. And now this link. Thanks for info on width at buckle. After market options exist if I am too cheap to get the real one plus everyone seems to rate the tang anyhow.

And found it.

Prestige time website. I guess they had this model for awhile and then decided no more!

Another great horological mystery solved! By sticking some hyphens in and searching on...Google!
