Just Married & New Wedding Day Watch
So i got hitched almost 3 weeks ago now - a beautiful day, loved every second of it, and the weather was splendid (you wouldn't imagine it now looking out the window). As part of the build up to the day my now wife, knowing how much i like watches, offered to buy me one as a wedding gift. Great, what to buy.......well i have a thing for Rolex watches so it was an easy decision. Having had an urge to buy a Datejust for some time i just didn't quite get on with the size which is just a touch on the small side for me. When i saw the Datejust II the decision became even easier; the size, thinner form factor than normal Rolex sports watches and of course the sparkle of that fluted bezel was perfect for me so this is what we went for. Purchased in January this year, i was under strict instructions that i wasn't allowed to wear it until the big day so it's remained boxed up and locked away since then (not even resized until a couple of days before the big day), oh the pain!
Anyway, enough of all that, some pictures: And of course the honeymoon, 2 weeks spent in the Maldives....simply beautiful place, i couldn't recommend it enough: So where do we go next? Current lineup is 2 Rolexes and a Speedie, any suggestions on where i should go with my next purchase? IWC Portuguese looks pretty nice. Fancy a Hulk also. |

Major congrats on your recent Nuptials! The Maldavies is just a beautiful place! From your next timepiece decision I would recommend the HULK! All the best!

Great choice. I was in the process of buying my AP ROO when I got married in June and the AD I deal with for AP is also a PP, IWC, Rolex, Roger Dubois, Cartier, etc dealer and was going to let me borrow a IWC or PP on a strap but the week was so crazy I didn't get to Philly to grab it. I wore my SubC for most festivities. No watch during the ceremony.

Congrats on your wedding, a nice honeymoon and a beautiful watch. As for your next watch, I suggest getting the IWC. I got a Portuguese for my husband's birthday a couple of years ago and he loves it.
