Get rid of Sub C for PAM 233?
I may be able to get a less biased opinion posting in this forum seeing that you guys in here are both PAM and Rolex fans.
I should preface that I was a Panerai fan before I got into Rolex and I've been itching to get another one ever since I traded my PAM 112 for a Sub C. I've been wearing my Sub C for about a year now and I just added the BLNR into the mix a couple weeks ago. I am very happy with both watches and even though I think they have their differences, they both wear similarly on the wrist. So I'm wondering what do you guys think about trading my Sub C for a PAM 233? The BLNR would stay because getting the same deal on it would be difficult where the Sub could be had in the future for about the same price. Keeping both Rolexes right now and adding a PAM isn't an option. One has to go I go back and forth because the Sub is THE perfect daily. Its just so damn versatile and comfortable but it also feels a bit "safe" and similar to the BLNR. So what do you guys think? Here is the current line up: Here is the PAM 233 (Photo courtesy of Traveller) |

I own the Sub-C date, 233 and a TTGMT, I would do the trade because you can always buy back the Sub-c no date later, which is at a lower price point. I just love being able to change the straps on the 233 to give it a different look everyday. Plus the 233 fits well on any size wrist.

The Sub C is SO popular and for good reason. I say Keep both and save for the PAM too.
You could put a good leather strap[or NATO] on the Sub which would differentiate it from the BLNR and could then be easy enough to swap. |

BLNR plus 233 gives much more variety than BLNR and Sub, so, yes, I would flip for sure.

I would keep the Sub and BLNR. I just would not make that trade at all. Stick as you are.

233 is a great piece and the sub-c can be replaced easily. Do it!

Tough choice, but the Sub will be easier to pick up again in the future. Get the 233

I can't keep up with the number of Panerai models out there......
Keep the SubC. Keep looking at all the Pams.

I would keep the Sub and flip the BLNR. The 233 should be closer in price to the BLNR so less money out of pocket for you. I am not a fan of the 233 but have been involved with Panerai for a decade or more and do like some of the models. Do a review of the 233 and read some of the issues with this model. Some years good, some, not so good.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Pretty close race between the two poll options. I'm gonna take my time with this decision and not do the impulse buy/trade that I always do. I'll probably head to NYC soon and hit up the boutique and try the 233 and 422 on again.
I wonder if they are going to put the new P.4000 movement into a 1950 case next year. That may be and interesting option |

I am very interested in the 233.
Having said that, I wouldn't flip a sub for it. The sub is a classic. Save for the 233, that's what I'm doing. |

Personally I would keep the sub, however, if I was to get a Pam I think the 233 would be it. You have a few sleepless nights ahead of you I think.

Since you already have the BLNR I would definitely flip the Sub-C for the 233.

I wouldn't do that trade...after owning many many rolex (new and vintage) and panerai...I would keep the 114060...in my opinion it is the most perfect submariner/sports watch ever...I would trade the blue/black gmt in a second if you are going to make a trade...

I've had all three watches and only regret letting go of the 233. But I'm biased towards Rolex Explorers as my favorite professional SS models.

I'm very impulsive when it comes to this stuff and I need to take my time on the decision. Last week I considered flipping the Sub for the PAM and then this week I decided maybe the BLNR should make the flip for the PAM.
Maybe if I wait long enough I wont have to flip either of them to get it |

Don't trade, save and buy the 233.
I am curious how you will think it compares with the Rolexes in terms of build quality and "feel". |

Don't do it.
