PM pieces....

Are Rolex PM pieces tough to get from an AD?....As I begin my search it looks like grey mark-ups are about the same as new with my sales tax, sometimes even a little less for a worn watch in excellent condition.....question is are they tough to get new?.....this is giving a 6 month or so heads up....not expecting to walk in and buy it off the shelf.....

Easier than SS.

At my AD I’ve seen them in the display. Depends on what you want.

Only certain pieces such as:
GMT-Master 2 White Gold with Meteorite Dial or Blue Dial
Daytona Yellow Gold with Green Dial
You can check if Grey price is a lot higher than msrp, it will harder to obtain at ADs.

Depends on the piece.

PM Daytona is still pretty tough. WG on OF and green dial/YG being the hardest...I think

Which PM pieces are you considering?

I was just offered a couple of PM pieces, one of which was the stunning RG GMT...a stunner but out of my price range.

Lots of AD's have PM pieces. One of my ADs sent me their inventory and tons of nice PM pieces they have now.

Everyone here has pretty much covered it here - nothing much to add.

From what I can tell, the reputable ‘greys’ in the boutique section here on TRF are pricing in a good discounts of what you’d find at an AD. You shouldn’t have any problem or wait time - for whatever you decide to purchase.

I waited 3 months for a 116505 from my AD.

White gold meteorite GMT and YG Green Dial Daytona 116508 are like unicorns per my AD. Second only to the Rainbow Daytona in terms of rarity. Some of the Oysterflex Daytona’s are tough to get, too.

You should be able to find a yellow gold one relatively quick

I'm guessing from your question that you are new at watches. Pretty much everyone on this forum knows how easy PM pieces are to acquire at ADs.

PM are the easiest to obtain due to the price of admission, with the exception of certain ones like the rainbow references.

Correct. To be honest I’m not that into watches. I had the chance to buy a Sub at retail last year and always kinda wanted a Rolex so didn’t pass it up as they are “hard to get”. I do enjoy wearing it very much when I do.

The Daytona with the Oysterflex bracelet is the first watch I’ve seen where I said to myself “I really want it!”....
