Need help with Spanish, Yo Hablo?

OK

Bought a watch for a well known seller in Spain.

I head the Spanish post system is a nightmare and
I have also been informed US Customs is TOUGH right now!
Due to some alerts lots of delays and more in depth inspections.

Anyway since the seller shipped through Spanish Post and I
No Hablo I am having some trouble checking the status.

What does

"Salida de la Oficina Internacional de origen "

Don't tell me it means the Dumb Gringo go ripped off HAHAHA just kidding!!

Exit of the original international office.

My wife who grew up in S. America and speaks perfect Spanish says that it makes no sense.

Very rusty now but I also think it might mean "it has left the international country of origin."

Advice from a Spanish forum member

Amigo Jeremy, "Salida de la Oficina Internacional de origen" means that it has "departed from the International Office of Origin" which specifically means that it has left the office of origin. So, assuming all is well, it's left and should be in transit. The Spanish post office "Correos" is pretty good and certainly no worse or better than the US Post (I've sent many, many watches via USPS and never had an issue), so you should be ok. That said, US Customs stops many things and it can easily get caught up there, so be patient because it'll likely take time to reach your wrist. You should keep checking the status with the tracking number and ensure to be in touch with the seller. Suerte amigo (good luck friend)!! PS: by Spanish, I mean Spanish citizen but living in the US...

Yeah, you're good, it has left the original post office, in transit (where there is no tracking) so you'll have to wait until you hear something from USPS.

Now tell us what you've got!!! :-)

I just ordered a pen from a member in Spain, of Fountain Pen Network, and got the same message on the tracking. I was trying to figure out what it meant. I am glad that I was able to get the information from my fellow members here.

I just got this message from the tracking from Spain with what I hope is the english translation. Would anyone be able to tell me this means it is in the US, but is in US Customs? Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to clear? Thanks

It sounds as if it's on the way to you. I recently did a deal with a guy in Spain and the watch was held up in customs for about 10 days. They wanted an in depth description of the watch; make, model, case material, band material, accessories info, movement type, movement serial numbers, etc. It was a major PITA and all the information was completely unnecessary. They even wanted a broken down description of what each item was worth (band, movement, case). I eventually had to call and speak with a manager and inform him that Panerai's don't price their pieces off of individual parts.

Good luck!

Yes it is, it's been held at the US Border, they should either notify you to declare the contents or clearthe package to its final destination

Good luck
