6202 on ebay

http://www.ebay.ch/itm/ROLEX-TURN-O-...item43cf6e61ac

Dial has not only been refinished as they say, but it does not belong to the watch, so wrong dial (size doesn't fit, Swiss marking under the rehaut, dial probably trimmed if genuine at all).

Agree that the dial is at least a refinish (as disclosed), and may be fake. Hands and insert are disclosed aftermarket.

I think it is the wrong dial in that the 6202 dial is a little smaller IIRC than a 6204/6205. Whether the plate is real or not - who knows.

The parts on this era are very hard to find and sometimes aftermarket is the only way for some people to go.

Doesn't matter if it is a 6204/05 original plate eventually, it is not a 6202 plate for sure, unless redone completely forgetting to mark Swiss, which I doubt.

We all know parts are hard to find, but as vintage collectors we want originals, that is why we are prepared to pay premium. I don't care if an individual puts aftermarket dials on his own watcch, but then he should not sell it and definitely not at such a price.

I understand but he is not asking original dial money either. If it was original dial / hands / insert and in decent shape - price would be 10K + USD higher.

BTW - I have no connection to this watch

This dial is worth exactly 0$. A 1030 movement you can get for around 1k. So we are talking about 8k just for the case? No way.

If this watch as is would be sent to Switzerland it would be seized immediately by customs.

The insert doesn't look original...
Expensive price I agree...
But nothing wrong IMHO with this add.
