Three Yr warranty from Tournau

Purchased last week NIB Pam 104. For $500 I can purchase their extended warranty that included new straps if damaged, sweat marks etc., cosmetic scratches, dings, etc., and also a full servicing that alone costs over $500. Now I know most say pass on these but I plan on keeping it and can be rough on the watch so with all the inclusions should, in your opinion, spend the $500? Also consider I got 20% of the list price and it's a 2105 production with warrens card, box, papers, etc. what are your thoughts especially since that alligator strap is over $400 alone? it's like all warranty's, you rarely get the value out of it. not a fan of tournau personally but if you're happy that's all that counts....

Ask the dealer who will be doing the service work on the watch. If it is not done by Panerai service center I would be concerned. Will they actually replace the strap and under what conditions will that happen. Above all read all the fine print and if anything is not acceptable get it in writing. Good luck with the watch. Find out where it will be serviced and the time limit on the warranty. Also read the fine print re: strap replacement ,under what conditions will they replace etc.Don't assume anything. I worked for them years ago. You did get a good deal. Best to you.

Regarding the photo, it doesn't seem like Tourneau sold you the right box/set? The 104 has the quick strap change buttons, so it should have the black plastic tool on the left, but it should not have the metal tool. My 164's box didn't even have the slot for the metal tool....

If there is no metal screwdriver, how will you put the pin buckle from one strap to another one that's given in the box.. All panerais have the metal screwdriver..

you're totally right....my mistake. i forgot about changing the deployant....that little screw is such a pain, it's why i never switch it! i just buy non-OEM buckles...

indeed, i went and looked at my photos from when i got my watch....and what do i see? the screwdriver! and the slot for the screwdriver.

Yes and true. The warranty is three years and I must get in writing the details because the sales rep said that even if there was sweat damage that he got a new one every six months:)

Cru, box had two tools, one metal screwdriver and one plastic tool that splits in half to chance out straps.

Yes sir. My only issue was either the screw came out when I changed from the alligator mot the rubber or there was never a screw there in the first place. Considering I for the 104 for 20% off list I will add the $500 and the three year piece of mind wit the warrenty. Thanks y'all for all your insights!

I took the plunge and with two replacement straps, a future ding repair, and servicing I think it will pay for itself.

It is a good deal but at that price or cheaper you can find used pam422.. Wear it in good health..

Don't know much about the Pam 422 but it's too late now:) Warrenty is transferrabal and I'm sure I could trade but lots of work I have a feeling.

I don't think they do. I happened to be in at the end of the month, so I was told, and the rep needed a sale and was willing to generate one via a price I could almost not refuse:) the 422 is a beaut!

. I did take the plan for $500. Cost is based on total purchase price of the watch. So for the next three years if I need a band I can get it, if it gets damaged, it gets repaired,'also first servicing is included.

First service within the three years? Commonly dont need one then. If you get straps as you say then seems reasonable - especially with the 20off. I too surprised that chain discounted. Normally full pop there

I normally wouldn't take the warranty myself, but since you already have it now, you can consider as an additional peace of mind. :D
