Not happy!

I have just bought a new speedy in Miami at an AD and when I got home, I have noticed a stain on the edge of the dial. I am totally disappointed. Would like to hear opinions on my options. Is it too much of a long shot to demand a new one. Going back to Miami is not possible. I attach pics. Thank you for any input.

Yeah def take it to local AD and get a replacement through Omega or at least a replacement dial - the warranty should be global. I've had a few Speedy's from new that were faulty, the QC on them isn't the best in my experience.

I would ask Omega for a new watch but would settle for a replacement dial.

I had a similar issue with a Ploprof. My local AD replaced it on the spot. It was 3 weeks old at the time. Your results may vary but a good AD will do this.

No doubt Omega would take care of that one way or another, glad you caught it quickly.

I am trying to get an answer from the AD in Miami. As I see it there are three options if I send it back: refund, exchange or repair. I would prefer the refund as the exchange will get me a new problem which is sending it back down to Argentina, this is complicated due to customs and off course not being able to catch any other "surprises". If the case is a repair then I am better of going to Buenos Aires(800 km away) and turning it in for dial exchange. This last one I will try to avoid because it is a never ending story, watch will come back without the stain in the dial but with a hair, then it will be a fingerprint, it just never ends, I have been there when the wife accidentally broke the crystal on another speedy and Omega service is very clumsy in this country. Last option which I donīt think has any chance is demanding a New watch here in Buenos Aires. Thanks everybody for the responses and will let you know how it turns out.

Hopefully you have this issue resolved quickly. I'm so sorry this had to happen but I'm certain Omega will find a way to accommodate you.

I would email omega directly and ask that they send a label for you to ship the watch back for the dial to be changed. If they screw it up, keep sending it back. Or just ship back to Miami for a refund.

Omega contacted me via mail. Of course they suggested a dial change as a solution. This is not a solution. There is the time involved and above all I bought a new watch not a repaired one. I have had prior experiences with this service center and they were not good.Any suggestions on how far to stretch the rope are welcome. In the meantime I am not wearing my new speedy.

Hopefully you'll be able to twist the Swatch Group's arm enough for them to better resolve this. In my opinion since the watch was just purchased from an AD they should do what it takes to make you happy so you're not left with this image of their brand. Ideally they could send one to your local AD who would have a manager inspect your defective watch while sending yours back to them. Not sure what they'll actually do under these circumstances but I'm hoping they can make this right without too much of a hassle .

a dial replacement is a 10 minutes job for a trained watchmaker (incl. pressure test ) i wouldn t really worry about it rather ask for complimentary first service .

Update
Omega service Argentina offered as the only solution to turn it in and wait for 60 days aprox!! Yes 60 days, 2 months! You can imagine my response. The AD in Miami offered to take it back and replace it. I sent it through Fedex yesterday. Only problem now is getting it back down here. In the mean time Omega Switzerland also contacted me, I told them that a solution would be for them to order Omega Argentina give me a new watch once the old one has been received by Omega USA. What a mess!

Jeez, to imagine that one slipping by Omega quality control (and the AD if they even check upon arrival) is such a shame. Seems like your experience has been long ruined. Good on you for suggesting Omega Switzerland send your "replacement" piece to the local AD. This does not seem unreasonable to me, at all. They're able to import it without the same level of issues you'll face otherwise. FedEx is good and the AD in Miami should have that flawed watch in no time. Keep us posted, Alberto.

I'm surprised that your local AD didn't just swap it out with a new one on the spot. Regardless where it was bought it should have just been replaced by any local AD...

Oh no, it was pretty much the opposite. The local Ad even tried to hint that it was my problem for buying outside the country. That made me very mad. Let's hope FedEx and customs don't give me a hard time upon entering the US because that would be the icing on the cake to this whole deal. I did not know of the import problems. My bad.
