Icon19 2*0*1*6 International GTG

As I sit in the same place where I posted my August 31, 2014 initial thread

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=370158

...that escalated into this

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=399048

I must admit that I have been anxiously waiting for August 2015 to get the ball rolling....again. Fueled by TRFers and my AD inquiring about the next GTG, well, here it goes!

I would like to start working on '16 GTG (dates to be checked later, maybe late February), but first things first: venue. Vegas presented a lot of advantages, but places like Miami, Atlanta, Dalllas or other cities could also work. Every place has its pros and cons, so this is the first post of a fun GTG which I hope some TRFers will consider...as always, with just one confirmation, I will book my trip.

First question, should we stay on Vegas or somewhere else?

Thank you all for your comments, let's make this happen!

Remind me where the D&D boutique is again? Houston or Dallas? I'd be up for that and then can thank them again - this time in person.

Count me in regardless!

I'd be up for any place you mentioned, G, but not February. That's when we take our annual trip to London. I would prefer March or April, although our calendar is pretty tight then, too.

Noted. I will let this poll run for a few days to define location, and then we will start working on date options

I'd love for Dallas to be the choice.

Best BBQ in the country, lots of watch shops/shopping areas, great restaurants, fun bars, and the Cowboy's stadium is definitely worth a tour. It is literally a nodernmodern day Coliseum.

Was thinking about this as a good option. Perhaps a visit to the RSC as well?

Should make it Hong Kong...roughly equi-distant between US, Europe and Australia, and the best Rolex shopping in the world, with 67 ADs and around the same number of vintage and used dealers

Nothing wrong with Las Vegas but might consider an East Coast or central U.S.A. location and back to Vegas or the West Coast the next year. Also the time of year can be impacted by the winter weather.

Errrr, ummm...that is actually located in Lockhart, which is 20 minutes from AUSTIN--which has my vote

But hard to beat Vegas for watch shopping, restaurants, bars, cigar bars, etc, etc.

Would love to join in but my travel schedule is too erratic. So I will follow the thread, see what the consensus is, and do my best to attend.
Thanks, Gerardo for getting the ball rolling.

I meant Texas in general. I would agree the best ones are around Austin. The best overall is in Taylor. The best brisket is in Lexington, Tx.

I'd be down for it to be in Austin too. Just did my bachelor party there and had a blast!

I voted any place OTHER than Las Vegas. I'm there too much on business, so it gets old. I missed the 2015 Vegas gathering because I was in Vegas the week before and wanted to get home.

My travel schedule is always erratic, but with enough notice, I'd love to be able to join for 2016.

Looking forward to connecting some names with faces!

Vegas seems to have everything and is easy in, easy out. I am interested in attending depending on the timing. Thanks for the planning and coordinating of this GTG!
