Icon6 I wear them all to the office, one at a time tho :D

I wouldn't buy a watch I can't wear to the office. However, when I'm in training (shooting, defensive driving, tactics, etc) or deployed I only bring/wear the sports models and the dress watches stay at home.

There are several employees at my work that sport WG or YG DD and YG Sub every day and it's no big.

Nope. Work takes up too much of my time. I wouldn't enjoy a weekend watch enough.

That being said, I do, however, happily switch to weekend straps.....

Yes for me. To flip the question a bit, I bought a watch only for work. Love my ND Sub but prefer something more formal with a suit so bought a Frederique Constant Index until I can afford a PP.

I would wear any of my watches to work.

It's other activities e.g. swimming/diving, that preclude wearing any of my vintage pieces.

Half the fun of having a watch collection is deciding which watch to wear and when.

When I was younger and in a former career the only Rolex I'd wear at work was a 16570 Exp II with black dial because it was one of the most under the radar references.
Now days I tend agree with Tom here
I've been blessed to own several watches and enjoy them whenever and where ever I feel like wearing them.

I have pondered doing that myself. A work watch.

Here's another way to look at it. I don't have a different pair of eyeglasses for work and for the weekend. Nor do I have a different smartphone for work and for weekends. So this question also depends on why you have a Rolex. For me it is a functional piece of my everyday "equipment". Doesn't hurt that it looks fantastic, of course. And I do take it off (usually on the weekend) if I'm doing something like painting or wrenching on a motorcycle...

Yes. I wear mine everyday to work but my work doesn't involve in any risk of serious damage.

I'm not very wealthy or even an enabler. I wear mine still everyday to work, light outdoor activities, travelling, in the pool, cleaning dog poop, etc. Even if I'm a full time logger, I'd still wear it to work , but not when chopping wood, of course that isn't necessary.

I think it depends on your work environment whether it would risk serious damage to your watch.

Yes, absolutely.

My orange Doxa isn't going to see a suit any time soon.

I work in an environment where there aren't too many guys who wear "nice" watches, at least "nice" as members of TRF know "nice". I've found myself lately not wanting to wear my PAM during the week and relegating it to weekend wear only. Maybe if I had something with less wrist presence I might change my mind….

Same as me, as far as I am concerned they are meant to be worn

As long as they are insured then its OK?

My work colleagues, who know about my passion and the true cost of the actual watch, think that I am mad

Which is probably true.

The only type of watch I wouldn't wear to work is something with a YG/RG bracelet so I wouldn't buy it. When I get too old to give a crap anymore I would buy it.

Watch: What do you think?
I voted no, but then I don't work any more. When I did work, I would wear all my watches at work (only one at a time, of course). But then, I worked in an office or conference room or courtroom. My watches hardly ever took any kind of beating. I think it really depends on your work environment as to what watch to wear at work.

Given that 95% of the people probably don't have a clue about watches or care, I wear whatever I want. I do make it a point to keep it hidden under my sleeve when around certain people.

I generally pick out watches I would be able to wear both at work and on the weekend. That being said, I think there are two types of weekend watches.

The first is the nice watch that you wear out which could be a dress watch, maybe even gold. It may be the most expensive watch you have.

The second is the "beater" that you wear when you're working in the garage or shop.

So in the spirit of enabling, I vote for two weekend watches to go along with work watches

Yes, of course. Work is work - totally separate from my personal life. I don't wear a watch at all when I'm there.

I won't wear my TT Blue Sud to work. I feel it is too flashy. I won't wear my WG Daytona because it will dinged seriously dinged up. I wear only my LV Sub or my Dad's white dial Date.
