My new "U" serial TT sub
Hey guys, I couldn't help but to purchase this sub for the price I got it for! Since I'm new to the submariner, please help me figure out if it's a legit watch and if it's not, I have 30 days to get a full refund back! Thanks!
Also, when I out the watch in the light for about 20 seconds so I can see the Lume, it goes away after like 2-5 minutes...or it gets darker and not as bright.... Is that normal? THANKS! :) |

Never mind about the line part, I can still actually see a good amount left and it's been a couple of minutes so I think it's all in my head lol

The " U" series was about when Rolex went from tritium to Lume. I have a U series SS sub I bought new and it has a Lume dial. I remember being concerned at the time because it was not a tritium dial.
Comgrats on a great watch!

Thanks guys! I will wear it definitely lol. I have a datejust "thunderbird" from 01-02 I believe and I recently had a 2010 TT datejust that was beautiful but I sold it to get the funds for the sub! So everyone agrees that my new purchase is authentic? Thank god!! Lol

Yes, really loolks good to me because I also have a 16613 TT Bluesy. Your's is an older model as it has the lugholes, no engraved rehaut with serial number, and no etched crystal which would make it easier for self - confirmation. This is not a knock, it still looks great and is one of Rolexes best lookers without going blingy!!! Can't beat that vibrant blue bezel and dial - way better than the new Blue Sub C IMO.
If you are still worried about authenticity, take it to a Rolex AD and have him check the movement. There will probably be a small charge to open up the caseback but it maybe worth it to put your mind at ease. Happy wearing & Xmas! J. Alan |

Seems OK from the outside, but I would have the AD check the movement. He can probably also tell you if it needs service. Congrats!

When you bring it to a watchmaker to have him check it out, make sure it's pressure tested so you have no water issues down the road
Great watch, always wanted one |

Yea I haven't brought it to a actual AD yet but from what I see, the seconds skip about 2-3 seconds every time I make it perfect to my iPhone time and seconds. Is that normal? It ends up getting ahead of itself a couple hours of walking with it by 2-3 seconds. No more than that from what I've seen so far. I'm kind of freaking out lol.

Looks good to me. My 2003 16613 gains about 4-5 secs a day. Yours probably need a service, the price you paid may have been lower as it didn't have recent service papers.... and the lume on mine is crap too. But I LOVE it, I keep staring at it and not to tell the time!
