Newbie -- Buying a BLNR/Hulk from my AD??
OK, so I'm new to this whole thing. I've been to my AD twice in the last month and felt like I had a good rapport with the manager and he's placed me on "the list" both times. On the first visit I told him to put me down for any ss submariner.
The second visit, I asked him to also add me for a datejust 41 and an explorer (whichever came in first). As I was leaving he said it would be about 6-9 months before he should get one of those in... Once I got home, I realized I'm too impatient to wait that long and went ahead and ordered a new DJ on the gray market. So now I'm thinking as a second watch I really only want a BLNR or a Hulk (at least until I can save a little more for a two-tone). My question is, do I have any chance of getting one of those two high demand watches without being a "preferred customer"? Just want to avoid wasting my time and/or making an unreasonable request from my AD... |

Two tone will probably be cheaper as you'll get that from an AD but will have to go grey for a Hulk or BLNR.

You may be asking the AD for too many pieces. Maybe try and focus on one to show him your intent otherwise he may just think you’re a flipper.

How much money do you expect this AD to make for you?

If u had hard time getting sub or DJ or explorer
You will very little chance of getting blnr or hulk as your first watch from your AD. Maybe if you spent $50k on non-sports Rolex or non-rolex Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I think BLNR and green SubC would be very difficult to get for new customer in today market. However, being humble and consistent might be LUCKY.

6 and 9 months for a DJ?! That’s too much. Also too bad you didn’t wait and got that DJ from your AD instead of grey. The DJ could have been a good door opener for the sub or GMT.
Having asked Varios models telling him to put on whichever comes first is not a good way to start a relationship with an AD.

Slim to no chance on the Hulk from the AD. Other SS Submariners, maybe. BLNR, not at all. Look to our Trusted Sellers and see what they have and what the market is doing. See if you are willing to part with the money for the watch you want and go forward. Good luck.

I think you made a bad move. If you wanted those pieces, you should've waited for the DJ 41 and purchase that from the AD to start your purchase history. I think the SA was probably exaggerating. DJ 41s are not hard to get you were probably just making too many requests in such short time he was suspecting you to be a flipper.
However funnily enough my AD wanted a list from me of all the watches I want. I refused to give a list because I said my list is too long and you'll run down my cash flow because I'd be buying a watch from them every two weeks I try to give my AD only 1 or 2 watches at a time. I'm trying to stick to my own no more than 1 watch purchase a month rule. I have very bad discipline and I know if the AD calls with a watch I want I would buy it on the spot. Giving them one or two watches at a time keeps my wallet happy |
