If you buy big diamond studs for a woman. Make sure those size diamonds look good on her ear.
I have small ears and prefer the .75 TW studs. Also, make sure the studs are mounted in a setting that isn't to high. Big diamond studs can have a tendency to hang off a small ear like a christmas ornament if they aren't set right. I have several friends that got beautiful studs from their husbands and they don't wear them because they don't fit their ear size. Another thought, earrings don't need to be as high a quality as a ring. So you don't need VVS stones, unless you just want to spend a lot of money.

I would think this whole discussion is moot. It all depends on the quality you are looking to get. Some women my wife for example wants only the best. For that reason I need a vvs stone at the least in d color. Or a flawless stone in d color. For that I go to one place and one place only. Sadly they are not online.

Another vote for Blue Nile. You can pick the settings, and the diamonds, choosing the characteristics you want - Carat, cut, clarity, etc.
