Ever wondered why submariner only comes in 3 colours. Black, blue and green. Google search yield no results too. Well for those who have sailed before will tell you that the oceans are mainly those 3 colours. Green in the tropics. Black in indean ocean and blue in atlantic.

Hi Ari,

no, I didn't flip it, I just added the green one:

I think I will keep them, both extremely good watches...no reason for flipping!

Welcome and congrats

Would be great to see some Submariner wrist shots on an actual Submariner, in a submarine... but I expect that the RN would not be too happy about this...

Recreating the 60s "if you shipped out on the Skate, Shark or Nautilus" advertisement, but for the modern era?

That would be pretty cool, although I think the bosses might need convincing.

That's the one... you would likely win 'wrist shot of the year' for that

Hi everyone,

Got myself new Sub 116610LN. Absolutely prefect watch! I have an idea to replace bracelet on it. I'm looking for polished center links just like on GMT 116710LN. Will this bracelet fit Sub 116610LN?
Thanx in advance!

So, my first Rolex.

I've been through Tag, Omega, Breitling and now I'm here. In truth, this is simply the watch anyone who loves watches, aspires to own, in my opinion.

It's a special day. You arrive, they sit you down, size the bracelet an it's pure joy. Whether or not you've made it, that watch makes you think you have.

I've had a Breitling Chrono Evo for a few years which is beautiful. There is however, no watch which seems to marry such understated class with such eye-catching bravado.

It's the classic though isn't it? Of everything that comes and goes, with the odd small revision here and there, this will pretty much be the watch it was 50 years ago and the watch it will be 50 years from now.

Romantic it may be, but why else would you buy this if this isn't what it does to you?

That is all.

Could not have said it better myself...While I haven't acquired my Sub yet, I am anxiously awaiting the day I can feel that pure satisfaction...(at least until I am shopping for #2...)

Outstanding review. Being my first sub, and only having it less than 3 days, I have to say that the glide loc feature is by far the best aspect of this watch for the exact reasons you've stated.

Beautiful timepiece!

I bought my 116610LN a while ago now and must say that it appears to get more striking as the weeks go by. A truly timeless wrist watch.

I'll post a few pictures soon and update my signature as well to incorporate my new purchase :)
