Thinking about going to a DJ

I know I might get shot for saying this here, but I really need to vent. Been thinking hard about this and leaning strongly toward it. I've been wearing my 16710 for a year this September, love the watch, but keep finding myself thinking it just too big and bold on me. I have small wrists (6.75") and know the 36 MM looks less obtrusive on me, to me that is. And I like 36 MM honestly... Ahhhh, I was a little torn when I bought it, but was really mesmerised by the GMT Master. Some days I look at it and think WOW what a watch, and others I think WOW, it's just too much on me. Just needing to get this out and wondering how many others have been through this.

Later all,

Patrick

Thanks Swede, If I can find that just right one I will, but I'm going to be very very picky.

Good addition but I would not get rid of the GMT.

Well kid, financially you are 100% correct. A poor decision in that regard.

I have a 6 1/2 in wrist, and find that the GMT fits just fine. That said, sometimes I long for something dressier, like a DJ with fluted bezel, white dial with romans, and a concealed clasp jubilee.

Good luck with your search. Fair trade IMO.

It's one one the reason why I got a blk face Milgauss. It's a little dressier with a simple bezel, no date (I don't like the cyclope) , the polished bracelet in the center makes it a dressier and it's 40mm.

Get the DJ with the Jubilee bracelet, you'll like it.

I think the 36mm is a perfect fit. Have you considered an Explorer? If you can live without the date then it's got both the size and sporty look.

I'm a big DJ fan!

I have a Sub and a Day-Date, so I understand what your doing. I love the DJ, it is the model watch for all others in that genre from all the other brands. Go for it when you find the one you like.

DJ's are gorgeous watches. But for me if I were to consider a DJ it would be the DJII.

Good luck! You can't go wrong if you trust your intuition.

I hear you. I love my GMT II but find that some days I really want something different. This last year I picked up a TT DJ and a YG DD (both vintage) and now I find that on any given day one of these is going to smile at me and the others will just ignore me altogether.

Right now I am wearing the GMT II and am loving it. The others are just not doing it for me today, but other days it will be one of the others. Between the three I'm covered.

Maybe I'm crazy.

Yes I have, (Karis isn't it?) and sometimes wish I had to start with. I just think I want another complication for the money you spend on a ROLEX, but I do love the date function. That said I think dress wise there is no cooler, or more versatile watch than the trusty explorer.

Brushpup, I like your sig. You dad is a wise man.

Get the DJ...if you are not 100% in love with your watch, my vote is to try again. (Spoken by someone who just had to do the same thing, but with a different model!)

same size wrists and I have a GMT & a Tudor sub. I also have a vintage 34mm oysterdate. I wear them all and don't have a problem with any of them.
A DJ will compliment a GMT perfectly.
If it is the case of one or another that is a difficult call only you can make

Thanks Finley, and yes he often is. I wish I would listen to that line better though.......but alas, nope.

What was your dilemma on trading watches? My Mind is pretty well made up, I just have to find the right one. The one I am 100% in love with.

Yup, it's Karis...and I understand about the complication issue. I know I prefer watches with a date function. I don't think you can go wrong with a DJ. I really adore mine.
