Opinion on this 1680?

Hi, was looking at this 1680, any comments on how collectible these are and if the price is right? What year is it from?

That a good piece, price seems to be right considering it has got papers & box, its from year 73/74.. Dial looks clean, case is pretty fat with some dings all round.

Very reasonable price for a very nice piece! Hard to find with B&P.....and with the strong Aussie dollar...it's definitely worth considering.

Eric's pieces are top notch. Thats a lovely Red and that price is fair for punched papers. A set like that is very collectible, I wouldn't have any hesitation! :)

Thanks guys, appeciate your feedback, lets see whats in store as my first vintage watch:). Will check if he can do me a better deal. Btw what does punched papers mean?

Also check this one out, way out of my budget but what a beauty:)
http://10pastten.com/inventory/detai...?item_id=TA487 , anyone here owns this one?

It means the serial number was actually punched into the certificate using tiny holes - you can see it in the one picture he has. As opposed to the serial number being hand-written in (the latter is much less valuable b/c it could have been written by anyone at any time w/ any set of papers, not necessarily from that watch).

1680 with papers and box is a great way to go for your first vintages. The papers will help this watch keep its value over the years.

Bummer. Eric will def follow through with you if that one falls apart or he comes across another so if you're serious to buy, be sure you let him know :)
