Warranty Papers

I am still very new at this watch stuff.

I bought my first rolex from a respected AD on 9/9/2006. I remember he made certain that my mailing address was correct for the purpose of receiving info.

As of this time, I still have not received any warranty info/papers.

Is this normal or should I visit him again?

No, In my view this is not normal, but I have heard of this.

Normally when you buy from an AD the warrenty paperwork is filled out in front of you and out the door you go with it.
In some cases I've read some ADs--usually a chain--will leave the papers "open" untill their return policy has expired allowing them to resell the watch as new.
Their reasoning is if the watch is a gift and is returned by the end user, and their store policy has not be violated--no damage, stickers intact it will go as new.
Some have been know to adopt this policy to discourage "flipping" on certain pieces.
Might be woth a call to the AD to find out. If bought from an AD it will certainly not hurt you if warrenty is needed before the papers are sent.

Here in Canada we get it on the spot, the AD fills it out, shows it to me to make sure the info is ok then they make a photocopy for their records and sends one to Rolex Canada.

I dont think I would ever leave an AD without getting all the things that came with my watch. However like the others have said I too have heard that some ADs in the US keep your papers till after their return policy is over, this is so they wont have to get new papers from Rolex US to sell the watch to someone else.

Hi! I'm also located here in Florida and my experience here with my AD is that in all my acquisitions, the warranty card was mailed later on with an appraisal as well. (max 20-30 days after the purchase date).
I think it would be good to call back your AD and make sure about their procedure.
Good luck!

Hi and welcome to TRF. I find that system extremely odd. The warranty paper should be given instantly to the customer along with the new watch!! We get the one with perforated serial number in the right hand top corner of the sheet.
