Have to agree some are made in perhaps smaller numbers but rare no,words like rare are normally used by sellers hopefully to extract more money from buyer.

I’m sure there are rare Datejusts, but that’s not one of them. The hardest to acquire is probably the other green one. The Palm dial is a “love it or hate it” model. Only buy it, if you like it, and want to wear it.

I got one for my niece when it first came out. Per my SA, she has only received one other Palm dial DJ since (this conversation was a few months ago). So I think it is produced in smaller numbers than other DJ's

A TRF trusted seller (Takuya) has one for sale (BNIB) at an ask of $14.875. That seems to be more than all the other SS DJ's for sale. Based on that , I'd say it is rarer than most.

It took me 19 months to get one. My AD said it was one of two they have gotten since their release. So I agree it’s medium rare lol

Funny thing is I was offered a mint dial 36mm a few weeks ago, but it isn't for me so I told my SA to make someone else's day and passed on it.

To the OP - no, it's not rare. Also, rarity shouldn't factor into your decision to purchase if you're an enthusiast and not a flipper.

I have one as well and I'm always told by ADs that they've actually never delivered one to a customer. No reason for them to fluff me about it since I already have one.

It's off the chart rare when compared to other DJ models. And certainly more rare than basically any steel sports model.

It’s a very unique DJ. Would say it’s made in low quantities but demand for it isn’t the highest. It’s something that you would have to like to buy. I certainly enjoyed mine.

Is it more rare than ice-cream?
