Capetown Diamond- a bit unhappy !!!

I purchased online capetowndiamond Rolex ladies President 179138, diamond bezel with black M.O.P diamond dial (pre-owned purchased date 12-18-2005).

From their online pictures, there are 26 links. I was even confirmed overall with them on the phone and email (thru eBay as well). Jonathan assured me it is in perfect condition !!!!.

Well, I received around 12:22PM today. Just few minutes ago i got a chance to video the package before opening. Have not check the watch thoroughly yet. But just counting its bracelet, there are only 25 links. So, it was missing one link! no happy new camper here!!!

Texted him right away...and now waiting for his response.

And now I wonder is it 100% Rolex authentic as they stated? Should I send to Rolex for authenticate?

I know you are upset but patience is a virtue! Capetown has a pretty good reputation so give them a chance to respond and let's see what happens.

I'd relax and wait his reply. Have had good dealing with Jonathan and I have a feeling they'll make it right. Of course keep us posted.

I don't understand why you would do a thread before you even give him a chance to respond. Makes no sense to me...Let him respond. As far as authenticity, they have been in business an awful long time and have a very good reputation.

I texted him at 4:02PM.

He replied at 5:58PM "I will check the invoice tomorrow and get back to you on it. Thanks"
"Sorry already left the store".

Definitely Not happy with that responded!!!

In his invoice sent me, he did not address item #. I thought, he was try to avoid eBay fees (I would not mind for helping him that). Therefore, I did not put in paypal note. But in my emails, I was address the payment thru Paypal $14000, for Item# CT34515 (same item # for eBay, as well as his website listings).

Now, what was his purpose using the word "invoice" on this short one link of its bracelet?

I could call Paypal to hold the payment today (because tomorrow they will released the fund to his account), but would not want do that to him!

What model your wife has?

On his listing pictures, its bracelet has short side 10 links + 16 links of long side = 26 links.
How come when I received it has short side 10 links + 15 links of long side? What was the reason they took off one link???? and sent without it????? I did not ask anything about adjusting the length.

So give him a chance to sort it with you on phone tomorrow - or take it in tomorrow and meet with Jon. You have a house in Duluth, GA right? And he's in Roswell area IIRC.

Understand - so phone will be best then.
An extra link in the mail should solve this.

Your suppose to get 36 links on older ladies president mine was a 69138 at 200+ each I think that answers why dealers do it. I also got 26 links it's a bit ridiculous

Something seems amiss as he replied to you ON HIS OWN TIME even after he left the store and you're still griping. You also griped here on this board before even giving him a chance to reply to your first enquiry (earlier in this thread).

So...
Having been in sales for a long time, it sounds to me like I know what the problem may be. Read into that as you choose to.

Other people have had great service from him. If he says he will send the link, then he probably will. When you buy pre-owned watches (I have some myself) this is the sort of thing that could happen. Besides the link what more are you hoping for? Relax and enjoy your weekend.

I think you meant 26 links, maybe a typo caused "36" to appear in your post?

For the OP - was your purchase made on item CT34515?

If so, the pics showed 25 separate links + the Crownclasp which will appear as a total of 26.

When closed up, are you saying you only count 25 including the Crownclasp?

I count everything included Crown clasp when opened up 25 links total. I will take a picture tonight and post here.
(I think Capetown knows it, if not they were already defense to protect their reputation! There must be a purpose for sending short link. If for money wise, that is unintelligent to do. If holding one link while waiting for the fund to be released.....that was even wrong).

Everybody in my house were telling me it is too yellow for 20 years.....I got the platinum president already (see my avatar)....my heart screams for yellow gold president bracelet.......finally I stepped over them all went ahead to get what I have been want.

I bought 4 Rolexes from LawrenceB here, completely satisfied ! Not even a phone call before or after purchased. I missed his 179158, sold in Jan of this year. Had waited for Davis or him to list....but they do not have one yet.

Therefore, I was very excited to open the package. The first thing I did was count its links.....so upset and would not even bother to look its condition any further then. He ruined my excitement !

Just got an 1803 from LawrenceB and happy. The hand stack was sticking but my watchmaker tweaked it while validating it. No worries.
Saying that to say every deal can have a wrinkle - but I didn't dis LB over it.

I received the link on Thursday of the same week as told will be mailed on Monday, August 4th.

He texted last night (from some of his long messages): "We have a store and someone came into try the watch on and my sales guy adjusted the bracelet for her wrist. She decided to take another watch instead of but my employee failed to put the link back onto the watch. i hope for 200 dollars u don't think we tried to trick you for a link".

Much appreciated to every one for your inputs!!!

I remember making a purchase for a 16613. Everything was great. The sub had papers, box, and etc. However, the bracelet was 10 years older than the actual watch. I didnt find out until I took it to a friend of mine who deals with second hand Rolex. I decided to keep the TT sub and just wear it as a beater. I just wish I was told that it wasnt all original. Jon is great I dont know about the ladies that work there though. They can seem moody sometimes.
