Pairing the Sub. LV

Building a two-watch collection, how would you pair the Sub. LV (126610LV, mk 2)?

Thanks a lot!

I'd add a GMT Master or possibly, if it's strictly a two watch collection, I'd seriously consider a Speedmaster. Then again, for a more dressy option filled with functionality the Sky Dweller is a strong contender, as is the Aqua Terra World Timer. They're both on the big side though. You've got so much choice, it's a nice problem to have.

For a two watch collection, I would avoid a sport model, and go for something that is more tradational in a dressier environment. Personally I would go 36 mm, but I know the size issue polarizing. My choices: (1) Daydate or (2) Jubilee, fluted DJ if you aren't inclined to drop DayDate money.

Just totally depends on your preferences. Do you want to stick with Rolex or branch out into other brands? Do you need a true dress watch? A slightly dressier sport watch? Do you like to have something on a strap?

I have a Sub (126610) and my other watch is a Tudor FXD black because there are times I really want to have a NATO strap option and I love the idea of a NATO specific watch, MilSub would be my dream watch and FXD is as close as it gets. But that's two black divers and it would not be the right choice for most people probably, but I love it.

I think a Sub and a DJ makes a classic combo. Or DD if the budget allows.

Do you like to keep things iconic? Sub is an iconic watch, add a Speedy which is another truly iconic watch.

Need a full dress watch, then look at what the budget allows there. Grand Seiko, JLC, Lange, PP, etc. Lots of options.

If you’re into complications, add a GMT or a chronograph.

If not, maybe something a little dressier like a DJ

I think the best Rolex sports duo is a GMT and a Daytona, so I’d pick whichever one of those you like best.

GMT is more useful but Daytona imo looks cooler. I value both characteristics.

So many options. BLRO is a perfect pairing for the LV.

BLNR or Speedmaster sapphire sandwich. Speedmaster is my dress watch -- it looks killer with a tuxedo.

And another vote for the EXP II Polar as an option.

All of the recommendations are great. Truth is the sub pairs well with almost anything:

Pepsi
Exp 2
Daytona
Speedy
DJ41
Even something on a leather strap (dressy or sporty)

In your shoes i'd go w speedy. You can put it on a strap or bracelet. Its a different brand, different function, just a really good watch - I love mine.

I’d go something a bit more low key. White OP 39, Exp 39 etc

BLNR on jubilee, fantastic pair. Had them, so telling you from experience. The BLNR is also much more conservative vs the Pepsi which you need with the subLV.

I love these posts, why would you let a thousand strangers tell you what to buy? We do not know your taste in watches, clothing, personal items.
Being what it is…….how about a Cartier Santos? LOL

If only 2 watches I would go Datejust.

If you're more a casual/adventurous type, then the EXP2.

If you're the dressier and/or traveler type, then the GMT.

If you just want something for dressier/special occasions and let the sub handle everything else, then DD/DJ/PM Daytona on a strap.
