I'm new to TRF and to buying secondhand watches. I'm considering purchasing a watch from Thanh Do (aka takuya) and I wanted to see how the community felt about their dealings with him and the representation of the watches he sells.

And given the recent and terrible story about a scam artist, can folks also confirm the contact details that he includes on his listings?

He is 100% trustworthy, nothing to worry about with Thanh.

100% no worries with Thanh. I have done more transactions with Thanh than I can count and have never been disappointed in the least. His communication is second to none. Above and beyond he is an honest and trustworthy person. The only caution I can give you is after you buy the first watch from him be prepared to buy many more as its quite addictive and Takuya makes it so easy!

Never bought from him myself but his reputation is stellar.
Have been involved in many threads with him however and he always comes across as a friendly and knowledgeable good guy.
If I was to buy from a seller here on TRF there are a bunch of guys that I would not hesitate to deal with if they had the piece I was looking for at the right price. Thanh would be one of those guys.

Never bought from takuya myself, however I have called him seeing if he could source a watch I was looking for. Answered all of my questions and was an absolute pleasure to talk to on the phone. Wouldn't hesitate at all to do business w him.

I went ahead and purchased a watch from Thanh and he's the real deal. Watch was exactly as described, and he couldn't have been better to deal with. He was friendly, helpful, straightforward, and trustworthy. A real professional.

I'm sorry I didn't read your OP sooner so I may be a reference for you base on my extraordinary experience with Thanh as I am also in the Bay Area, CA.
