Decision Time on 1680
I'm looking at two 1680s. One is a Mk 2 from Kirill Yuzh from VRF and the other is Mk 4 from a jeweler I know in Houston. I don't love the bezel inserts in either, but otherwise both watches look good to me and serial #s are right for the time period. Both have twin-lock screws for whatever that's worth.
Has anybody worked with Kirill Yuzh? Does anybody have any concerns on either watch? Thanks for the help. |

I bought a watch from Kirill a while back, no problems, he offered a 3 day money back guarantee at the time...
ps he is also a member here...

Decision Time on 1680
Kirill is a trusted seller. I haven't done business with him but have spoken to him a couple of times and he is quite cordial.
As a quick side note, lugs on the mk4 look a little thicker. Haven't done a thorough looksie, just a quick observation. |

Kirills is very nice from what I can see. Beautiful Meters first dial with nice patina.
The other one looks nice as well. Case looks a little stronger and I'm sure the price is a little lower because it's a Mark 4 and not a meters first. Tough choice. I would move quickly. I don't see that Meters first sticking around long. |

Meters first for sure, though price is also a consideration. Is there a big difference?

$3000 difference so not a nominal sum. For that much I'm leaning towards mk4, but kirills has been very courteous and responsive.

Based on the pictures and the 3k price difference, I'd lean towards the meters first.
I've done business with krlyuzh before and he's top notch. |

K's fine to do business with imho. I'd take the M/first all things equal. M

I personally would take the MK4 and buy another watch with the 3k
A nice used Omega SMP / PO etc.

Meters first for me. Surprised it's not sold yet as the price seems pretty reasonable.

The insert on the MKIV is just plain wrong. Crystal looks a bit off as well. Case is much better though. Not liking the CGs on the MKII. I'd need much better dial pics to make any sort of decision. Depends if you want to spend the extra on a m-first, and depends on price and condition.

Watch the crown guards on the one on the left...look very thin. Maybe just my eyes

Here's the link to the meters first. I think the crown guards look a little better in the first pic so it may just be the angle or wishful thinking. I believe I've made a deal on it and will hopefully receive the watch in the coming days. The novelty and rarity of the meters first grew on me as well as the positive references on Kirill. Let me know if you see any issues with the additional pics, but I think it looks quite good. It was recently serviced by ABC Watchwerks for new gaskets, pressure test and a new OEM plexi crystal. I've read great things about them so right or wrong that gives me some comfort regarding the watch.

Got the 1680 today, and it looks awesome. Thank you guys for the references on Kirill. I can’t say enough positive about my experience. The watch arrived a few weeks ago and looked great, but shortly after stopped keeping time. Kirill gave me no grief whatsoever about it. He told me ship it back to him (on his nickel), and he then overnighted to ABC and had a diagnosis of needing a new mainspring. He offered to refund me 100% of my money and undo the transaction or if I wanted to wait for the watch to be finished he would have ABC go ahead and service it while they replaced the mainspring (all on his nickel). I elected to wait and am very glad I did. He was also very prompt in communication via phone and email throughout the process. Overall great experience.

Congrats - glad you got it all sorted, and that's the kind of response I'd expect, to be honest, so it's good you got it.
