Have a look at the rest of OP's "collection". The BLNR's bezel looks bad. I think we have a serial fake buyer here :

Wow. I canʻt speak to the OPʻs motivations, but I learned one thing from reading this thread. And itʻs that after admiring and studying many many pictures of authentic Daytonas on TRF, something just didnʻt feel right about the OPʻs wrist pics. Just a gut feeling that the dimensions of the watch were off.
At first, I thought it might just be the angle of the photo, but then the truth comes out. Iʻm grateful to TRF for all the things Iʻve learned on this forum. Iʻm wiser for it.

LOL, the Milgauss bezel is too big and the crystal too transparent.
Another fake from this poster, is there a Canal Street in Colorado? |

I'm a little surprised this user hasn't been banned given all the fakes he's been posting.

Lol. If I had to guess, he's probably standing in front of a photo of the mountains in his pic! 😄 |

I saw the first post then continued reading and started scratching my head. Ray Charles could have spotted that fake. Were the congrats posts just to soften the blow assuming he didn't know when he bought it?

This can be determined in an instant. The left and right subdials are directly aligned with the 3 and 9 on the main dial, like a Zenith Daytona (165xx), but the hour subdial is incorrectly positioned at 9 instead of 6 like you would see in a more modern 4130 movement (1165xx). This error is very commonly seen in fakes.

Unless I misunderstood... You are referring to the 6 and 9 WITHIN the hour subdial itself? I see. Fair enough.

I'm surprised fakes are even available for a watch so new.

He hasn't posted since his Faketona was discovered. Doubt if he'll be back.

1. See thread for first time.
2. Open it. 3. Read congratulatory remarks on screen without scrolling down to discover major change in sentiment. 4. Chime in with congratulatory remark, and quickly move on to browse other threads in the same cursory manner. |
