Anyone purchase from 'fatderek'?
Looking at vintage Tudors and this guy always pops up with nice blue snowflakes, which is great, but seems like a bit of a red flag... How can a guy always have a sought after piece available. Not saying anything more than an observation... Perhaps he's known for vintage pieces. Just wanted to see if anyone has purchase from him and their results/feedback. Thanks in advance!

I have. Not a pleasant experience to say the least. Was dishonest about the condition of the watch. You can PM me more about the details

No issue here to make it public. Made bold claims that watch was unpolished. Received watch and it was quite the opposite. Here is the other issue:
This photo was taken the first day it was worn outside. He suggested to use a hair dryer to remove the condensation and that vintage watches are not waterproofed. Also claimed watch was serviced. I brought this to my local watchmaker and he had to replace all the gaskets and seals and pressure test it. I didn't bother sending it all the way back to Hong Kong. Chalked it up as lesson learned. |

I DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING FROM HONG KONG. NOTHING!!!!!!!
So sorry to hear that happened to you. God damn HK. I was warned from day one about anything from that city. My good friends brother who works at a second hand luxury watch store here in MTL and he couldn't stress it enough. See i too was almost a victim. Lucky for me i never went ahead with the deal. One of his clients bought a AP ROO RG and the case was real RG and all checked out from the outside but the movement was counterfeit. Basically he had paid 30k for an Original Case from AP. worth 12k for the GOLD. SO it's always good to buy Face to Face if possible or off verified sellers only. |
