Panerai shouldn't be compared to Patek or AP or any other haute horology wherby hacking seconds can damage the movements. It should be a rather robust movement since they claim to be tough diving watches used by military. Rolex , seiko , omegas hack and nothing happens to them for years and years.

I feel Panerai watches should have hacking seconds, or even zero reset.

This entire episode had been based on an article from Perezcope. There, both the 9010 and the P.900 were named. The P.900 with substantially less evidence. The evidence presented is in fact damming however the author and the legion of followers jump too quickly from assumption to facts for all Val Fleurier calibres. Then on the other side the Paneristi jump too quickly to dismiss the author as a Crackpot with an axe to grind against Panerai. Both may very well be true but both sides jump to their assertions far too quickly for me with questions raised not given the diligence of the initial investigation.

Added the this the allegation of downgrading a calibre due to the non hacking is in fact sometimes by design. A decrease in finishing is not though and doesn't look good. Where I am disappointed is the lack of due diligence in answering questions that are then raised. The same endeavour should be given to the presented questions as the initial investigation.

I have asked questions of the author myself and been less than impressed with the answers provided. I am also happy to elaborate on these.
