New Arrival But Is It A Keeper?
Have been on the look out for a nice dress watch for a while and after deciding to forgo gold piece to allow me to expand my humble collection a little further I spied this one on the 'net and tried to find a place that had one that I could try one with no luck but I did manage to try on other models of the brand and was generally quite surprised by them. So what it this watch you ask? Well it's one that definitely comes in as a Value Proposition, has had a few watch blogs praise them and they are now a Manufacture and I thought it was a bit of a looker. My only concern was at 42mm is a bit big for a dressier piece?
Any one willing to guess the watch? Winner gets a small prize sent to their door |

Longines?
With a dress watch, I'm a little more concerned with watch thickness than diameter; though 42mm is starting to push the boundaries, IMO.

No but a good guess. I agree with both your points, thickness is fine it is more about that width. Further clue just before I post shots: Small independent.

Only other two that really come to mind are GP or Maurice Lacroix...

I should have been able to guess that because I actually ordered the exact same piece once, but with a silver dial.
I know you are debating on whether or not to keep it, so I'll tell you what I did. As soon as I got mine, I sent it back for a refund. I liked it, but I decided I would rather put that money towards something I wanted more. I realized that if I had doubts the second I unpacked it, they wouldn't have gone away. I do not regret my decision. It is a nice piece, but I'd rather put that money towards a JLC dress watch.

It just depends how long it takes you to save up and if you can be patient. If it would take you 5 years to save up the rest for the JLC, then I would probably keep the FC. If it is less than 2 years, I'd probably be stick it out. I want a dress watch too, and I'm currently in the saving bucket for a JLC. I think my patience will be rewarded. Like I said, I'm glad I sent that back. I traded my Daytona for a RO this past July. While the FC money wouldn't have covered the cash I threw in to upgrade, it definitely was a descent chunk of the money - I was glad to have it.

Excellent! Enjoy wearing that for however long you ultimately decide to keep it.
Personally I'd have went with the non-limited edition moonphase version, but then you're you and I'm me. |

The slimline quartz or the manufacture? Tried the quartz and it was rather nice but the fact it was quartz put me off. If the manufacture, I never came across one. |

Funny story with the AP. I was in the AD to actually try on a JLC because I wanted a dress watch to go with my Daytona. The salesman talked me into trying on the AP, and I tried to politely pass on the opportunity because I didn't like how APs look. He insisted, so I obliged. Once it was on my wrist, it was game over. I had to have it. The quality, the feeling of the bracelet, the movement, the details and finishing...as much as I loved my Daytona, it was hard to put it back on. I waited 3 months to ensure I really wanted to make the move, and I am so happy I did. I killed my dress watch budget, but none of the other watches I've owned (5 Rolexes, 1 JLC, 1 Tudor) came close to the feeling that this one gives me. Here is a quick pic from the AD the first time I tried it on.

Cool story. I love both the Daytona and the RO and prefer the RO over it's Viagra'd sibling and I would be delighted to have either Daytona or the RO to be frank but that AP does look great on |

Make sure you check the return policy from where you ordered it from. I believe I had 24 hours to decide. If you're having doubts now, you probably will later.

The manufacture model I referred to, is a beautiful watch for the money, with a nicely decorated and designed movement on show at the rear. |

FC stands up as a dress watch, no matter the nay sayers, enjoy. My WT is not supposed to be a dress watch, and yet it plays.
