I infer there are numerous people out there who have the new GMTIIc. How are you...

liking the new maxi case and dial? I know there is a fair bit of controversy about the case and dial on the Sub-c, so we might benefit from your experiences and opinions. Thanks!

I like the larger case overall. It wears very comfortably. The maxi dial and markers are also easier to read.

The GMT II Ceramic is a possibility in the future, especially the TT Version, but I can EASILY do WITHOUT Maxi case and Maxi Dials!!!

( and with slimmer, non YM style hands! )

De gustibus on est disputandum.

I like the II and I wear the IIc. Both are excellent. I'm not opposed to the Maxi Case at all. It's comfortable and great looking and I couldn't be happier with it. The numerals are a bit different than the classic GMT...wider and very nicely designed and milled into the ceramic bezel. The classic GMT is still one of my favorites and my son just acquired a beautiful TT w/jubilee bracelet. It's a tough choice if you have to choose between the two. Suffice to say you can't go wrong either way :)

I bought a coke gmt II a few years ago right when the IIC came out. I decided that I liked the coke II better but did not try the IIC. Earlier this year I sold the gmt II and bought a ss gmt IIc.

Once I tried the IIC on I liked:
-the supercase, comfy but gives the watch more wrist presence
-maxi markers
-new bracelet with half link feature, love the polished center links
-ceramic bezel shine is amazing
-larger crown/guards

all this made my older gmt feel small and dainty. I believe that this is the best watch rolex has released in the past few years. Try both on at the same store and you will know which one smiles back at u.

Andy

I'm on the fence as I really don't like the extra thickness of the case on the new IIc. But I do like the new bracelet and PCL for the "bling" factor.

I've owned the GMTIIC for about a month now and am loving it--even more so now that I put it on a black NATO strap. Nothing wrong with the case or dial. I like them at least as much as I liked those on the classic GMTII. The PCLs, on the other hand, give off a little too much baling for my taste. If I were to make any changes to the GMTIIC, I would 1) remove the PCLs, 2) add drilled through lug holes and thicker spring bars, and 3) remove the anti-reflective coating on the inside of sapphire crystal so that those who wanted to remove the cyclops could do so. Currently, the anti-reflective coating is applied to two locations, under the cyclops and then again under the sapphire crystal. So, it looks strange if the cyclops is removed. I have to admit though that I will probably flip the GMTIIC next year for one of two watches--the Sea Dweller to satisfy my appetite for classic simplicity or the Deep Sea to satisfy my appetite for the more extreme.

Regardless、 I think Rolex deserves a lot of credit for the innovations it’s made to its sports watch models.

V/R,
Michael

I lurrrrve my 116710.

I tried on the current Sub' but opted for the GMTIIc simply becasue it has slightly more 'heft', I LOVE the whole pcl's/ceramic/'bling' factor & I also MASSIVELY prefer the new clasp.

I only have one criticism of the watch & that's the 'sharp-ish' corners of the super-case, but that won't put me off buying the new/ceramic Sub' as soon as it hits my AD.

Moving home so my stuff (including watches) had to go in storage for a while, needed one watch to cover any eventuality & it was such an easy choice to make.

Form & function, carefree & classy, the TT GMTc ticks all the boxes

Honestly, if the numbers on the bezel were just a little bit smaller and less blingy, the center links were brushed, and they got rid of that god awful "somewhere between chalk board green and turquioze" logo font and 24-hour hand color (I'd suggest a white logo and a black 24-hour hand stem), the watch would be completely perfect.

I have three Rolex watches. The GMT IIc is the one I wear to work on a daily basis so I can track two time zones. I like the maxi dial because I wear my watch to bed. I'm more concerned with function than with style or bling or any of those other things that seem to worry everyone else.

Love it!
Although I have to say, It took a while to grow on me...

Now the 16613's dial looks oddly small to me

I will admit however, that the maxi dial does take away a bit from the elegance and move more solidly into the sport range

I am not a fan of the maxi dial and maxi case. Classic 16710 (or 16610) for me.
