Now that's an awesome pair, the Rolex Comex, IMO the most legendary version of the sea dweller or submariner, can't quite make out on the pic which is it but it seems to be the SD, and the 5711 in platinum, the most legendary version of the Nautilus, now those are incredible watches my friend :c lap:

About the 2 brands I have both, a 5712 and a Hulk, that I will probably flip for a 114060, don't know why but can't get to love that green, I'm having more and more love for the sub C no date, I think having just Rolex can be ok as you can wear them in any occasion, for me a sub can be worn in a bathing suit or a suit, but having just Patek not so much, except if you don't mind either wearing your Patek when doing sports and risking it getting scratches or being damaged or not wearing a watch at all when doing something risky...

Awww yeah!! Already ready for another PATEK. Someone's got the bug and I love it.

For me variety is the spice of life, and I enjoy having numerous PP and Rolex, and a smattering of other brands, in my collection. I don't think I could just wear one watch every day for the rest of my life. Too boring when there are so many great options out there.

Everyone would I think, I guess it's only the slight price premium for the Patek which stops them from getting it

I thought I would be happier with many, well at one point had 9 very nice watches in the Panerai and ROlex SS sections, plus 1 RG Daytona on strap, and 1 Blancpain with complications,' but I was just always putting the 2-3 I preferred and the others were just in the safe at the bank, so I sold, am down to 2, Hulk and 5712, am thinking of maybe something else but not soon...

Soon, it will be a Sub and an incoming 5167. Then, probably the 5167 as a daily wear forever and no more purchases.

The price difference is 20-25k I doubt they are cross shopped too frequently. Maybe the blro which is the same price point. Not sure why the comparison was made to blnr in the first place. Steel and similar function of course, but lets not compare a watch to one that retails for roughly 4x as much!

For the record I love them both in their own right, but own neither.

My thoughts exactly. I've given considerable thought to exactly how I'd like to configure my collection; my life seems best spiced with a dozen or more choices to wear on a given day.

Well I went up to 9 only to understand that I was only wearing the 2 or 3 I liked the most and never the others, so went down to 2, but am looking into the next purchase right now...

I think there's a natural progression. Buy a Rolex, realize Rolex isn't the great brand there is, buy a Patek. Realize you don't need something so prissy. Go back to Rolex. That is, if you're a one watch kind of guy. If you can afford multiples, generally you always keep at least one Patek.

Always get Patek to wear on the weekend, and keep Rolex for daily.

Tell me about it brother! I've done my fair share of flipping but hope I've got it under control now.

You, my friend, have been on a roll with some great additions. Best

Actually for me the opposite Patek for weekdays and Rolex weekend. Strap for work & bracelet on weekend.

Agree with this philosophy. I don't have a Patek, but come tomorrow, I will have a watch on leather strap that will get a majority of work wrist time...but the Daytona may sneak in at some point during the work week.

I flipped around rolex to get to the PM Rolex models I'm comfortable with. Now I'm turning my attention to PP. I'm going to skip the SS versions. Bracelets only. The hunt continues.
