Opinion on how long it takes to order a link

So for my Rolex it seemed quite easy but I was trying to get a link for an old Gucci watch I owned and it has been about a month and a half since I dropped my watch off at this business and every time I call to ask they just say haven't heard yet or they will check with minimal responses to me. Does this seem a little long? I feel bad because I don't want to go back and demand my watch back when they may have already put money out for the link.

Gucci is a brand name, not a watch manufacturer..

It may be that the original maker is out of business, or there are likely many different vendors and yours may be hard to track down for parts.
