16610 vs 116610

I'm ready for a sub but I can't decide between the old sub or the Sub C, I like the slim look of the old one but I also like all those new features on the Sub c.
Shool me please!

I prefer the 16610. It's lighter, less bling-y, and has the classic Sub shape.

Watches are an anachronism. You don't need new "features." A lot of wearers like the new bracelet/Glidelock, but I think it's too heavy and bulky.

Glide lock alone would swing it for me.

Here's generally what I've picked up on from sub owners after a few years of observation.

Bracelet - SubC Hands Down
Case Shape - Preference
Bezel/Material - Preference

I personally went from a 16610 to 116610(LV) and never looked back. As mentioned the bracelet and glidelock are on different levels of quality. I personally like the ceramic bezel much more, and the case shape while at first was my only hang up has become something i truly love about the watch.

I say 116610 for sure. You need to get both on the wrist though to be positive.

Buy one if each, then give the one you like less to a relative

This is LITERALLY what I am doing. I own the Hulk and will be buying a black pre this year.

One quality that led me to the ceramic is the ever-famous glidelock bracelet.

The ceramic bezel won't fad or get yucky.

I had to make the same decision when looking to buy a sub. After trying both on and seeing the upgrades of the 116610 sealed the deal for me. Those upgrades are just too good to pass up (IMO.) Also the 16610 felt a little "cheaper" to me, I think it was just the bracelet and the hollow end links. Either way you can't go wrong they're both great watches but I much prefer the 116610 and I've actually come to love the maxi case (I didn't like it much at first.)

This is what I have. I preferred the shape of the 16610 until I got the LV. Maybe it's the ceramic bezel, the bracelet, glidelock or all three, but I'm thinking about trading the 16610 for the 11610 to go with the Hulk.

It's essentially a matter of air-cooled 911 vs water-cooled 911. A 996 checks a box in just about every performance and feature category, but I'd take the 993 all day.

Tough call. I prefer the case and lugs of the 16610. Wish I never sold mine. I wear the SD4k now. Oddly I do really like my 116613. The glidelock is purely amazing though.

I like the one on the left. The one on the right seems to be very popular also.

Good call, what is a fair value (2000 to 2005)for 16610 with box and paper?

For what it's worth at first I preferred the older style lugs but after owning the new sub I've really grown to prefer the new maxi case. Good luck, I'm sure you'll be happy with either one. I would recommend trying both on though.

It's been a few years since I bought one, so I'm not the person to ask. Check a trusted seller.

I feel your pain. SDc is the closest you can get to an in between but it comes at the expense of less comfort.

I prefer only the latest 5 digit (+RRR and Random or G serie) over the SubC.
In other cases I would pick the SubC, but that is just me!

16610 looks better. It is tasteful and subtle over SubC

I have owned both and way prefer the Sub-C. I like the case, lume and the Glidelock bracelet is the best anywhere. A perfect fit every time.

While the cleaner lines of the 5-digit are appealing, the 6-digits just ooze quality and feel more robust to me. SubC FTW
