Cheapest country to buy a rolex in?
Im looking to pick up a new 116610 LN sub in the coming months and I do quite a bit of traveling and am often in china as well as a few different european countries so I was wondering if any of you know which country would be the cheapest to buy my new rolex in? I know discounts are different depending on the ad but my guess is that I will have to pay list price for the new sub, so which country has the cheapest sticker price? Thanks!

i asked that question before, and the answer is Singapore and Hongkong.
They have been 2 of the best countries to buy rolex. I have also heard Germany, a member's friend bought GMT2C for 4200 Euros after VAT refund. With the Euro so weak, it may be cheaper to buy there. Beware of customs fee when you bring it back to US. Another country is "TRF" country with trusted sellers like DavidSW, justrolexes, bodybump, etc.

I'm looking at getting the new 116610 so pre loved probably won't be an option for a while. Not sure how long until the trusted sellers here get the new sub c in but I figured the ADs will get them first. Otherwise your absolutely right and I would be buying right here on trf. Thanks for the info!

It's definitely not China. It's very expensive here because of the huge luxury tax. I was in Korea a couple of months ago and came across very good prices at the Seoul Incheon airport AD. I guess it all boils down to which country has the more favorable exchange rate at the time.

Was in Bali a few weeks ago, Rolex watches (along with Omega) were incredibly cheap... the salesman said the warrenty cards would follow in the post and the boxes could be has for an extra few dollars...
Big range but I hated the new models, the ceramics are really plastic looking and the second hand ticks... backward step Rolex. Still at the 500% discount they are probably a good buy.... |

Greece is something to look into , they have just upped their VAT with 4% and now add a 10% luxury tax on items such as Rolex watches . The AD's will negotiate good discounts and if you then can export the watch and recuperate all this . You're laughing all the way to the bank.

If you are ever in the GCC, the No. 1 dealer in the middle east is in Bahrain. Try the Rolex boutique located in the Souk. The king of Bahrain has him on speed dial and buys lots of his inventory as gifts for members of the royal family. Plus the king is a huge WIS.
The dealer has a large inventory and his prices are the best on the planet...better than HK. He gets tons of customers from Saudi coming over on the weekends to shop so he moves lots of product.

For a hot model like the new 116610LN.... Well forget about HK as grey market will be hording all the stock and price will be ridiculous.

Good to know Tristan... Anyway it will be sometime untill a "walk-in" will be able to buy one as the very few that will be available will all go to mega-clients, then the second shipment will all go to under the table greys who buy the unselable "garbazz" and then ( I am thinking 2011) you the client might be able to buy one. |

If you want the best deal on a pre-owned Rolex go to Mexico City, Mexico.
