Kilyung - you charm a passenger sitting next you and grab a wrist, priceless. i barely got my wife to agree to a wrist shot on a recent flight.

Guess to avoid having to take it off at airport screening / attracting unwanted attention leading to theft.

A valid concern but just place it inside your briefcase or backpack discreetly upon arrival at the airport or before you leave your home or hotel. You can use a inexpensive watch case or one of the service pouches RSC used to use when they sent a serviced watch back to its owner. They can easily be sourced.
The security concern at your destination is also valid but insurance and situational awareness go a long way towards peace of mind and to avoid becoming a target. I'll admit, I'm growing increasingly uneasy when I travel in some places in South America where the crime seems to be skyrocketing.

At the end of the day, do what makes you most comfortable but it's a shame not to use your watch when traveling at least to those places you deem safe.

It's a slippery slope my friend! I tired 'moving up' once as a 'trial' only and it spoils you to the point that you really never go back. It's a bad and expensive habit!!

Alcohol (in abundance before you board) and a shot for good measure on board usually puts one to sleep and at that point, it doesn't matter how comfortable (or not) you are!! Cheaper too.

I had to do that once, on a non-stop from LAX to MEL. That was about 15 hrs of hell, even in business.

My longest flight was 14 hours (ramp to ramp) on Cathay business and it was alright. Try them if possible. They are on the high side with respect to price BUT very good.

It was a United flight about 8 yrs ago. Even being upstairs on a 747 where we could get up and walk around, it was still tough.

Ahhhh the mighty 747 is my alltime fave. I made sure I booked United a few years ago to be able to fly my kids on business and experience the second floor of the 747 before they all get retired. To this day my kids fondly remember the stairs, second floor, lie flat beds and sundae!!

My flight was pre-lie flats. We had to sleep in a reclining position.
